Cass Sunstein’s dangerous ideas.

(8PM EST – promoted by Nightprowlkitty)

Cass Sunstein has failed to notice that denizens of the tubes frequently quote others whom they despise in order to mock them.  It’s called balance.  Here, for example, is Cass Sunstein himself:

“Momma Cass ‘Dream a Little Dream for Me'” Sunstein thinks web sites like Docudharma should volunteer or be coerced into providing links and ideas to alternative opinions to the ones being expressed by single-minded dharmavillains.

“The best would be for this to be done voluntarily,” said Sunstein, “But the word voluntary is a little complicated and people sometimes don’t do what’s best for our society,” he added.

“The idea would be to have a legal mandate as the last resort….an ultimate weapon designed to encourage people to do better,” Sunstein concluded.

For example, if I post a diary arguing that Obama has appointed a fascist dickhead to oversee the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs responsible for “overseeing policies relating to privacy, information quality, and statistical programs,” I should have to include links or countervailing information that Cass Sunstein is a famous Konstatushunel skoller uv grate reepyoot, so his head is highly unlikely to be literally full of dicks or shaped like a phallus.

I examined his cognitive infiltration proposals previously and found nothing creepy about them at all.  In fact, I find his ideas are attractive accessories to our gulag of CIA black sites around the globe, warrantless wire-tapping, the assassination of US citizens by Presidential fiat, “modified Miranda warnings,” and generally treating everyone as enemy belligerents who don’t have any constitutional rights.

To be fair and balanced, I will include a link to a dissenting opinion discussing Cass Sunstein’s spine-chilling-fascist-dickhead-creepiness factor of 11 on a scale of 10.

Update: To which I add this kind of stultifying crap, too.

    The Fairness Doctrine for blogs…

I suppose Mr. Sunstein’s dangerous thinking has more to do with right wing blogs than us…

Show us your birth certificate! Uh, he already has. The meaning of Communism versus Fascism, etc.

And of course, this is also probably a broadside against FOX.

And every 911 question will be given the link to Popular Mechanics and the NIST.

Bring back the Fairness Doctrine for EVERYBODY… Then we can have a discussion. But just for blogs?

Methinks he doth protest too much.

Targeting sociopathically oriented globalistic ego-centric power hungry dominating assholes who project their fucked up worldviews on masses of people they should leave alone to discover their own true destiny.

Ya, know fuck Al-cia-duh Cass you got a 55 year old born here, raised here genuine Boy Scout, pilot, father of three country music loving American just waiting for the fall of this shit disturbing federal government which is the real anchor on all of humanity.

I wonder if Bertram Gross, the author of Friendly Fascism, is still alive.  That book needs an update, stat.

…. in the world, we are all totally screwed.

Jonathan Katz is nuts.  Physics, er fizzsucks Professor at Wash U. Must have flunked his bio and anthropology courses if he ever took any.

    quote fr Katz

“What of those cursed with unnatural sexual desires? Must they forever suppress these desires? Yes, but this is hardly a unique fate. Almost everyone has desires which must be suppressed. Most men and women think adulterous thoughts fairly often, and find themselves attracted to members of the opposite sex to whom they are not married. Morality requires them to suppress these desires, and most do not commit adultery, though they feel lust in their hearts. Almost everyone, at one time or another, covets another’s property. They do not steal. Many people feel great anger or intense hatred at some time in their lives. They do not kill.

I am a homophobe, and proud.”

one of his opinions on global warming, which he thinks is a good thing

People won’t freeze in the dark for the sake of a scientific theory, even a correct scientific theory. It is inevitable that greenhouse gases will continue to rise until they are far above present levels.

Humanity will adapt. We may even benefit from longer growing seasons and milder winters (for good physics reasons, summers and the tropics are no hotter than they were 100 years ago and won’t get hotter).

Hilarious write up at the Huffpo by Linkins on the handpicked 5 geniuses

Go check out Roth’s mini-profiles of Garvin, Hunter, Slocum, Cooper, and Katz, whom he terms “The Old Hand,” “The Establishment Man,” “The Maverick Genius,” “The No-Nonsense Engineer,” and the “What-Am-I-Doing-Here Guy,” respectively.

I still don’t quite have a fix on which one of these guys will develop “oil fever” and go crazy and try to sabotage the project — I’m guessing Cooper, but I’m open to a new character being developed and inserted. But eventually, someone will have to nobly sacrifice their life to make it work. Katz will volunteer, but it’ll be Garvin that locks him in a closet and gives up his life to plug the leak. Smash cut to presidential medals being handed out, flourish and fade to black. After the credits, everyone joins the Avengers.

After all, how are we going to move forward as a country unless we hear from people who think the BP oil spill is part of nature and tarballs are good for you to eat?

  12. DawnoftheRedSun

At LEAST we didn’t get the pleasure of having Cass on the supreme court.

One way (and probably the only way) to feel good about the Kagan nomination.

The extremist pro-corporate cult, the AEP, had Sunstein as a member.

I think perhaps more than anyone except maybe Rahm Emanuel, that Sunstein is  closest embodiment of Obama’s views.

But as co-chair of the American Enterprise Institute Center for Regulatory and Market Studies advisory board, Sunstein works for one of the nation’s most influential right-wing corporate anti-regulatory think tanks. In an interview last year with the Wall Street Journal, Sunstein said of Obama, “He’s a University of Chicago Democrat, so he’s very attuned to the virtue of free markets and the risks of free-market regulation. He’s not an old-style Democrat who’s excited about regulations for their own sake.”

I hadn’t noticed.  What have I missed – was the Fairness Doctrine recently reintroduced into our sad and wispy media stream?

However, it shows the rulers are becoming uncomfortable with us.

  23. Lasthorseman

everybody should know as much as I loathe the very name Cass Sunstein I see an essay on a blog page with an imbedded video.  The face on that video is Obama who is a black man.  Now I actually, contrary to rumors do not hate people based upon their skin color regardless of what I may have said based upon my complete loathing of the entire species of humans infesting this planet.  The more complete illustration of contempt for Obama might be the post turtle analogy.  Asshole, scumbag parasitic, ego-centric fascist billionaire NAMBLA member globalist oriented sociopaths did the entire black race a great dis-service by appointing a used car salesman/mafia member Kenyan Muslim as spokesman in chief of what used to be America and the American people.

I feel sorry for those deluded Mexicans rushing across to border in hopes of something other than drug lords, corrupt cops and south of the border American subsidzed sweat shop maquiladoras set in the green toxic ooze of factory waste they could never dump in the river here in the good ol US of A.

Ah yes the principles of old give way to the instant gratification, the illusion of something better yet behind it lies the scientific dystopia of an oppression greater than guns and death.  The very inner workings of your mind itself.

Or we could just kill each other off fighting about it, again, and again, like we have as a species so many times in the past.

  24. gottlieb

    at all…

    I am a derisive lefty.
