Rachel and Jon

Watching/Listening to this Stewart needs to go and watch and read All of what’s been coming out of the Inquiries into the Iraq War, as well as during and in the now, especially the Brit Inquiry. He’s spinning the hawks lines in this interview without caring about the Facts that have just proven what millions were saying as that administration were doing. While no criminal charges will come directly out of these inquiries the testimonies are now the record and can and will be used by others for possible criminal charges, We Hope!

Knowing he’s a Comedian one can buy the lack of researching but if coming out and commenting seriously he better get the Facts for a better understanding of the questions!!!

He shouldn’t be a voice to be interviewed on a serious level and he’s showing that, sadly, because his comedy sketches do use facts, quickly can be searched out if needed, and come off as reality with a funny and credible twist.

I’ve used this tiny snippet of early on testimony from the Brit Inquiry a few times, and there is plenty more even outside of the inquiry:

Drip, drip, drip, “”He recalled noting that: “the dog didn’t bark – it grizzled.” Don’t forget – this ‘grizzling’ for regime change was 6 months BEFORE 9/11.””. drip, drip, drip,  “”But there was a ‘sea change’ in attitude after the atrocities, with former national security adviser Condoleezza Rice targeting Iraq on the very day of the outrage.””, drip, drip, drip, “”George Bush tried to make a connection between Iraq and al-Qaida in a conversation with Tony Blair three days after the 9/11 attacks, according to Blair’s foreign policy adviser of the time.””, drip, drip, drip, “”There was “a touching belief [in Washington] that we shouldn’t worry so much about the aftermath because it was all going to be sweetness and light”.””, drip, drip, drip, “”Boyce mentions the “dysfunctionalism” of Washington. He says that he would find himself briefing his American counterparts on what was happening in different parts of the US adminstration. Rumsfeld was not sharing information””, drip, drip, drip………..!

What does the above show, they were hell bent on taking out Saddam as soon as they came into power and they had the republican congress to bend to their wants all needed was the excuse or lies twisted to be facts, something that we made illegal years back after finding out the CIA were doing assassinations for regime change.

If using the “left” vrs. “right” meme’s, especially as to journalism or opinion, but especially journalism, Facts are Good Journalism coming from any ideology, with if wrong are as soon as possible corrected. If giving talking points that can be quickly proven false with real facts that’s called propaganda, always has been always will!

By the way, there’s a Huge Difference with Activism using Facts or suspicions from other Facts then searching out and if wrong admitting, then there is with these ‘teabaggers’ constantly yelling and using only Spin Meme’s fed from a propaganda source that are Quickly beaten down With Facts!

    MEPs pressing for Wikileaks Iraq torture follow-up at US summit

    11 November 2010 – Euro-deputies on Thursday (11 November) called for a “transatlantic inquiry” into Iraqi torture cases described in US war logs published by Wikileaks and pressed EU leaders to follow up on the issue at a meeting with US President Barack Obama next week.

    The European Parliament is “highly concerned over the recent serious allegations that torture has been condoned in Iraq” and demands an “independent transatlantic inquiry,” a resolution adopted Thursday in the plenary reads. MEPs also call for this issue “to be raised in the context of the EU-US summit,” which is set to take place on 20 November in Lisbon.

    Last month, Julian Assange’s Wikileaks website published some 400,000 classified army documents, disclosing that US helicopters in Iraq had killed insurgents who were trying to surrender and that American troops routinely delivered suspects to their Iraqi allies, knowing that they would be submitted to torture. The massive leak also uncovered 15,000 more civilian deaths than were previously known about.

    The issue is so far not on the agenda of the meeting, said a spokesman for EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy, who will represent member states in the two-hour meeting with Mr Obama. European Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso will also attend the gathering. {read rest}

    Milan’s Botched CIA Caper and the War on Terrorism

    Condoleeza Rice, CIA higher-ups, and maybe even George W. Bush all had sign-off on a 2003 rendition that was later prosecuted

    November 11, 2010 – In 2003, CIA agents grabbed radical cleric Abu Omar off the streets of Milan and sent him to Egypt, where he says he was tortured. The government called such abductions “extraordinary renditions.” In 2009, an Italian court convicted in absentia 21 CIA agents and a U.S. Air Force officer on kidnapping charges related to the incident. Freelance investigative reporter and author Steve Hendricks’s “A Kidnapping in Milan: The CIA on Trial” traces this chapter in the war on terrorism.

    Excerpts:

    What happened in Milan?

    In a nutshell, the Italian counterterrorism police had a radical imam, Abu Omar, under very tight surveillance and were about to arrest him. The CIA swooped in [and] grabbed Abu Omar off the streets, without telling the Italians. The CIA gagged and bound him, roughed him up, drove him across Italy to the Aviano Air Base and flew him to Cairo, where he was tortured savagely.

    Why did they render him? {read rest}

  1. In the Maddow interview he cleverly tries to defend Bush and the decision to attack and invade a country that was no threat to us.

    Stewart has never had Noam Chomsky on his show, but he has had a slew of Neocon War Criminals on to promote their lies (books).

  2. …. watching Stewart.  He was basically trying to say “I’m just the monarch’s court jester” or the Village Idjiot they keep around.  There will never be a resolution of this entire war mess in the mid east until the national voices stop covering the arses of the politicians of any party who keep perpetrating it.  He really was trying to pretend the Tea Party stuff was not being manipulated by the usual big time Republican operatives too, but was just the regular conservative folk who “had a point.”

    Yeah, they have a point, alright.  They use the word “socialist” the way they used the “N” word in the sixties.
