TBC: Morning Musing 9.16.14

Well, here’s a roundup of Adrian Peterson/NFL news.

First, Cris Carter says exactly what needs to be said:

Watch Cris Carter take an emotional stand against child abuse on ESPN

“My mom did the best job she could do. Raising seven kids by herself. But there are thousands of things that I have learned since then that my mom was wrong. It’s the 21st century. My mom was wrong. She did the best she could, but she was wrong about some of that stuff she taught me. And I promise my kids I won’t teach that mess to them.”

Apparently, Peterson had another son that got the Peterson discipline in much the same way. I’m sure the NFL is looking into it. Not.

Though Vikings management took him off the field last weekend, they have, in their infinite testosterone wisdom and lust for winning, reactivated him for their next game this coming week.

Vikings brass explains Adrian Peterson decision during awkward news conference

So let me get this straight Vikings: you are an outspoken advocate for marriage equality and you get dumped from the team, but whip a 4 year old child bad enough for blood and bruises all over his back, buttocks, and legs, and yer totally fine? How fucked up is that logic?

Well, seems the Vikings infinite wisdom did cost them:

Radisson suspends its sponsorship from Vikings due to Adrian Peterson

In related news, apparently Roger Goodell feels some heat, and he should feel more. So he got himself a PR bandaid.

Roger Goodell will have four women help with league’s domestic violence policies

Methinks Goodell needs to go. Pronto. And the Vikings owner needs to have a come to Jesus moment with management, unless they like bad PR.

So how you doin’?

I’d say the repeated head trauma may be the cause of this behavior.

I don’t know.  I was in the band. When the third quarter started we’d chant “Let’s Go Home! ” The Team didn’t get it.
