Number 9, #9, No. Nein.: Republican Debate Open Thread

Scalia was dead: to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. The register of his burial was signed by the clergyman, the clerk, the undertaker, and the chief mourner. Scrooge signed it: and Scrooge’s name was good upon ’Change, for anything he chose to put his hand to. Old Scalia was as dead as a door-nail.

And we have a debate.

I suppose I should honor the fallen, Jim Gilmore (who’s he?), Carly Fiorina, and Chris Christie, but, like Scalia’s ghost, they wear the chains they forged in life. Good riddance!

It will be Trump and Cruz and Jeb! and Rubio and Kasich and poor Ben Carson who hopefully will be paying enough attention tonight to come out when his name is called, so actually the field is getting whittled down pretty quick. The problem for the Republican Establishment is that their vote is still getting split 3 ways and a solid majority of their Party is behind the 2 outsider candidates, Cruz and Trump.

And that’s probably how it will work out tonight, Ted and The Donald will be playing their own game and the rest of them will be busy cutting each others throat to be the last Machine candidate while Carson sits on the side praying for a miracle.

I, of course, will be finding better things to watch, you may do as you please. This will be an Open Thread.
