NCAA Women’s Tournament 2016: Regional Championships (Round of 8) Day 2

No Upsets Day! That’s right, on Saturday every top seeded team won as opposed to Friday when they all lost.

U – Conn Husky, symbol of might to the foe.
Fight, fight Connecticut, It’s vict’ry, Let’s go.

Connecticut U – Conn Husky,
vict’ry again for the White and Blue

So go – go – go Connecticut, Connecticut U.
C – O – N – N – E – C – T – I – C – U – T
Connecticut, Connecticut Husky, Connecticut Husky
Connecticut C – O – N – N – U! Fight!

What? Did you forget? Sixty points is the largest ever margin in the Regional Semi Finals (Round of 16). The big controversy is that some yahoo sports writer from Boston said that UConn dominance was “ruining” the women’s game, making it impossible for him to watch.

Geno’s response? “Don’t watch.”

He elaborated that UConn is dominant because they are the most talented and hardest working team in Women’s Basketball, which is true. Earlier he has remarked that when they are playing their best, no team can defeat them. Also true.

He opens his practice to anyone, he talks with other coaches- there are no secrets.

If they were playing in the Men’s Tournament they’d be in the Regional Semi-Finals (Round of 16) every year.

Every. Year.

Tonight’s games select the Regional Champions in the East and South Regions. They will go on to play in the National Championship Semi-Finals in Indianapolis on April 3rd (Sunday).

Grey and black? Is that how this game is going to go? The lack of any fashion sense is palpable.
