Answer: not gutted Lieberman-Kyl. It said nothing of importance and authorized nothing at all.
Be upset about war funding and substantive legislation. That stuff matters.

take a deep breath.
But surely you know how this is going to play out, right?
1. Just before the funding vote — Homeland Security will issue news of a terrifying plot (they may actually go so far as to close the nation’s airports for 12 hours).
2. For the first time in years, the Terror Alert will go ORANGE.
3. Congress will receive a top-secret behind-closed-doors briefing that scares the shit out of them the day before the final vote.
As a matter of fact, they (we) started test marketing ideas for the “Funding Vote Terror Alert” just yesterday. The one below looks especially promising. It’s been picked up by several news dispensers already:
Not with a bang but a wimper…
topple the Saddam regime passed through Congress and was signed by Clinton in the 90’s. It bothered me when it passed and it really pissed me off when it was used to bolster the case for AUMF. So I am upset about Lieberman-Kyl because it is a harbinger of things to come if this crowd remains in Congress and have a willing President in the White House. Hillary who is the “inevitable” nominee now made it clear that she’ll run with this if she is elected. That is why the resolution bothers me.
