I know there are at least a few Bay Area dwellers ’round here.
USGS says 5.6 with an epicenter at alum rock (just north of San Jose). See link for past week’s activity also.
My story:
I’m in Marin sitting in my rocking recliner with rocking foot stool and petting the dog.
I don’t feel a thing.
Mrs. Night Owl, who is sitting next to me in her four on the floor comfy chair, is just about to say again what an idiot Tweety is when all of a sudden she asks if I feel the place shaking.
I say no, and go back to petting the dog.
I guess I have an earthquake absorbing recliner.

howdy neighbor!
It was a definite roller…in two parts for me. Told the spouse I thought it was about a 6…maybe south bay. I’m thinking I’ve been in CA too long, getting pretty good at guessing where and how big!

Wasn’t ON at the time though.
It was a fairly mild shaking but it lasted a lot longer than any other EQ I’ve felt. The windows in our house rattled. My cats were very concerned.
and no I didn’t feel a thing in LA. My parrot – our alarm system – slept soundly through it as well.
