Cheers and Jeers Retires

Life intrudes. One of the great ones, Bill in Portland Maine, has retired Cheers and Jeers.

Here’s a rum and coke to you my friend. Daily Kos will never be the same without Cheers and Jeers.

    I can’t believe you did this diary and that you’re actually thinking of kicking in for a fellowship.  I’m touched beyond words.  And very gassy.

    I’ll mull this over and write a diary tomorrow.  At the very least I owe you a big thank you for all your kind words today.  At the very most I would be a fool not to consider the fact that you are—at least for now, while you’re drunk off your asses—apparently on the verge of offering me a full-time gig that would be beyond a dream job.  I would actually consider grafting my brain directly to Kos’s server if C&J could support me.

    It’s insane.

    It could never work.  NEVER!

    But maybe…

  7. Cheers and Jeers since 2004. It’s a shame to see it go, but, more importantly, it is a shame that Bill is going through hard times.

    Bill is a good guy, one who made us laugh daily, even at the toughest times (post election 2004). He helped to develop the Daily Kos community as we know it (even if he didn’t mean to). His dedication to the column over the years is amazing (the amount of work he put into each post is staggering — I know, I tried to cover mondays for a while).

    Here’s to you Billy. Get things going your way again. Do Cheers and Jeers if you feel like. Take care of you, that is what is most important.

    Oh, and give Vegas and Molly scritches from all of us.

    and reading C&J and thinking “What the fuck is this?”

    I’ve been a regular C&J lurker ever since.  If he doesn’t get a fellowship, Kos is a buffoon. He could rob Peter to pay Paul as there are a few on the payroll there that are worthless.

    Anybody sees the landlord buhdy, let me know.  This is tooo good an opportunity to waste on MANY levels.  He and I gotta talk, either in public or via email.  I don’t care.
