Maher Arar, a Canadian citizen renditioned and horribly tortured through the auspices of the United States, today received an apology from the House of Representatives. By video…..since if he returns to the United States he could be arrested….and renditioned….and tortured.
Rep Dana Rohrabacher also apologised, saying the US should be ashamed of what happened to Mr Arar.
But, he said, “that is no excuse to end a programme which has protected the lives of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Americans… We are at war. Mistakes happen. People die”.
Thank God that in 15 months we will have a new President who is interested only in Peace!!!

His second statement clarified anything that could be construed as not PC by soldiers and vets. I’m fine that some politician talked about soldiers getting their heads blown off for the president’s amusement since I know a few people that this seems to have happened to. She wants to be President; she has to get cozy with big contributors in order to get elected. That doesn’t mean that they’ll get any special favors. I’m sure she will be a great President and will continue to support our troops by sending more to Iraq to help the people there.
