This Pony Party is sparse; I don’t have the constitution to focus for too long on the tragic goings-on in Myanmar. I can’t even imagine living it. I’m more horrified with every link I click. And I rely on the words of others….
If you want to be free, there is but one way; it is to guarantee an equally full measure of liberty to all your neighbors. There is no other.~Carl Schurz
Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.~Lord Acton
Oppression can only survive through silence.~Carmen de Monteflores
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.~John F. Kennedy
Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity.~Horace Mann
Hope doesn’t come from calculating whether the good news is winning out over the bad. It’s simply a choice to take action.~Anna Lappe

Such utter beauty…my heart breaks for her people.
Having retired with dawn’s early light and risen at 13:00 or so, I notice that I have drunk 3 mugs of tea, smoked the same number of cigarettes and made a handfull of comments. The remainder of my time has been spent with my head in my hands thinking about ranks of ordinary, gentle people formed to give protection to shaven headed holy men who want to make change by nonviolent means and the brutality inflicted on their noble bodies by the owned thugs who have sold their own humanity at little more than cost to a priveleged, wicked few who would not know them if they saw them in the street.
Meanwhile elsewhere, a lunatic makes use of similar whores to invoke Godly powers. Even the stench of the pit which envelopes his cackling, swaggering form does not alert him to the fact that he has summoned the wrong entity by the wrong rites.
It is maddeningly frustrating.
