Penned in 1956:
The party’s over
It’s time to call it a day
They’ve burst your pretty balloon
And taken the moon away
It’s time to wind up the masquerade
Just make your mind up the piper must be paid
The party’s over
The candles flicker and dim
You danced and dreamed through the night
It seemed to be right just being with him
Now you must wake up, all dreams must end
Take off your makeup, the party’s over
It’s all over, my friend
This best sums up my feelings about the rest of my life as an American.
It’s ok. The more people realize the coming sacrifice to right the wrongs of ceeding our freedom to ANY government…….the quicker the healing can begin. We have been asked to pay the price and we cannot turn our backs on it or no one will survive. For all of America’s faults we are a nation of very strong and smart people. The world really does need us……the used to be us of many yeats ago.
So buckle up my friends. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.

and I despair for Maher Arar.
I’m taking a break from blogging for a few days to regain my strength and spirit. Right now, I’m broken.
See you all soon…

is it is OK to feel BAD. That is my understanding of change. And changing course is what we have been called upon to do. I am signing on. And I know most people here will. But it’s ok to admit it hurts.

called So Much Trouble In The World – the images hurt but the music and finally Martin Luther King’s words soothe the soul

heavy heart!
How many we’ve had before. How many days of waking up angry and depressed at the same time.
Not long ago, there was a study done on sleep-deprived Americans — is it any wonder that they don’t sleep well?
