I thought that was mainly the French and Belgians, and dog food companies…
I have to drive into the city to recycle our stuff. We live in the county which means we pay for private garbage collection and recycling is not part of the service. Bleh. I don’t mind the drive it just irks me that I live in a rural area where you would think they care about what happens to the land and I get to waste gas to try and do my part to conserve. yeah…. No irony there.

and i say this:
GET RID OF AS MUCH PLASTIC AS YOU CAN.
go back to glass containers to store your food. and take as much organic matter out of your garbage as you can, if you live in a place where you can (so you don’t have to “can it”)
get rid of as much plastic as you can……….
maybe it should be: stop using/buying plastic as much as you can…
