Broadcast Music Inc is giving Willie Nelson an Icon Award.
‘Nelson certainly fits the bill. Before he became a star in the ’70s, his songs were hits for Ray Price (“Night Life”), Patsy Cline (“Crazy”), Faron Young (“Hello Walls”), and Billy Walker (“Funny How Time Slips Away”)’….according to Yahoo!News
At age 74, Willie is still kickin’ it, having released an album this year, and 2 in 2006. All I can say is ‘wow’.
‘Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain’
‘She Loves My Automobile’, with ZZ Top
‘Seven Spanish Angels’, with Ray Charles
Ponies don’t go in for awards and such…save your recs for the essays of substance 😉

and the music
good morning!
love willie nelson…pretty much everything he does is good…
he has a recent-ish song about growing older & the lines on your face that I love…’worn & lived in’ is a phrase in the chorus, but I can’t recall the rest…
Need More Coffee!
another favorite of mine (^.^)
This one seems most appropriate:
and a priceless one with Keef…
I would love just once to have a go at the binbag bong thing on Willie’s tourbus.
My retired sister has been visiting so I’ve been having actual in-person commmunication and haven’t been so available to harrass and deride on teh toobz. She and b.i.l. have decided not to buy a house….they just bought A BIGGER RV. Ugghhh. Luckily, I live in one of the RV Capitals of the World. They just brought over the new(er) one and I was supposed to help them move in, but after the dealer checking and fixing things for four days, half the stuff in the new ride isn’t working, or the guy they sent to show them how everything works doesn’t actually know anything….it’s still unclear at this point. This is possibly the beginning of a live blog “My sister’s new RV Disaster”….
In world news….
