This is me just foolin’ around. (Updated)

I’ve acquired some new tools and I am struggling to come up to speed with them.  I’ve only begun the learning process but here’s the first video project I’ve been able to complete.  It has issues so please forgive its shortcomings.  Bigger and better things are coming (I hope).  Any pointers from the pros are most welcome.

Update:  I smoothed out some of the transitions.  Thanks for the feedback.

Happy New Year everyone!

    awesome OPOL!

if this is just foolin’, can’t wait to see something ‘real’!

  1. chills are still running down my spine.  What tools did you use?  How long did it take?

If you tag your videos with a “video” tag from now on I can serve up a feed just for videos.  And use it as a plugin or widget on other sites and blogs.  This will help to get you more exposure per video.

And Happy New Year to you too!

  2. OPOL’s amazing images…with music.

The only thing I’d say about this one is that, for my taste, you could slow the picture transition down. I didn’t have enough time with some of the images.

But then, that might just be me. MTV videos give me a headache with the fast paced transitions.

I’d say you are a very fast learner.  Happy New Year and more, more, more!!!

You got some talent. Let’s do lunch. Have your people call my people. Never change.

    Bravo.

Did you ever do anything to the music of TransSiberian Orchestra?

    • kj on December 31, 2007 at 01:25

    OPOL!!!

and that happens to be one of my favorite songs, as well.

The sound track and pictures of a lifetime… and the one of the woman with the bloody hands confronting Condi’s stone face, WOW, hadn’t seen that before.

The speed worked ok for me.   Great.  Thank you.

just watched it again, I think the timing and placement of the pictures are perfect.  Just a beat longer on RFK, and a few others, that represents, to me, the shock of the reality of what we lost.

On the old Kerry blog, someone put together a “Kerry On” and then a “Comfortably Numb” video that I used to watch every night just before going to sleep.  To remind me what all the exhaustion and effort were really all about.

  3. otherwise it is wonderful AND powerful!  Good job OPOL

and many thanks to whoever gave you this great equipment.

    Happiest of New Years

  4. It was GREAT!

  5. libruls iz capuble to larn a thang or two, eh?

I loved it, maybe, should be a little slower as some have already said.

Trying to figure out what “melange” you used.  Some of your Photoshop melange, plus “real” photos, plus some “like” Powerpoint capabilities, i.e., “folding in” — “folding out” etc.

    See what you’ve started?

  6. … I gotta say, I’ve had my skirmishes with you (and enjoyed them all! :-p).

But I’ve also had a chance to see you grow from all the hubub of the big thousand poster blogs and find your own unique vision … and heck, it’s always when you’re foolin’ around that you do the best stuff, imo.

I really liked this; it takes what you’ve done with the medium so far and moves it forward a big step.

I’ll be very interested to see what you come up with.

    Thanks for this.

    I say fanfukintastic OPOL

I enjoy composing but my little laptop here can’t make it up Rendering Mountain.  The hardest part of quitting my old job was leaving my super ‘puter behind.  -firewire, SCSII disk array, plugged straight in to a OC3 (27 T1’s)

yep,I miss that machine and Morganna my secretary too.

Here’s an image you might find useful.  not sure if it’s copyrighted or not

Don’t know whom you prefer, but it would be sweet to see you do this type of mantage for the candidate of your choice.  Who knows, might lead to some free lance work for you–a true win/win situation.

    As in an unmarried man?

  7. Holy shit is this ever wonderful!!  The first version was

so good, but this is fantastic!  Sorry for all the !!!

    but I’m just blown away….

  8. According to Alexa:

Docudharma is the 23,640th most popular site in Mexico.

And in Iran it is the 184,151th most poplar site.

How ’bout ‘merica I hear you saying:

    216,760th most popular

    not bad…not bad

Now be sure to buckle up, it’s a bumpy road ahead.

  9. you have been busy. Your work and output is inspirational and I truly appreciate it. As an artist your awesome, this new change and growth of your work is much like your politics never static or souless and always moving and growing. More please, this one moved me to tears.

  10. Wouldn’t have a clue how to go about putting together something like that.  I just read Brandon’s diary at Orange and discover that while I was out being a grandmother and we are occupying Iraq “flight suit” is now going to negotiate with the Taliban.

    Photobucket

With all of that in mind a movie quote comes to mind from Cold Mountain.

“They call this war a cloud over the land. But they made the weather and then they stand in the rain and say ‘Shit, it’s raining!'”
