This won’t be a long essay.
I never watch Mr. Bush, I can’t stand to hear his voice or see his face.
But I do read the transcripts of what he says.
I was wondering if he’d mention it tonight. He certainly didn’t mention it in 2006. And if he did mention it last year, I don’t recall.
But he did mention it this year. How kind of you, Mr. Bush.
He said:
Tonight the armies of compassion continue the march to a new day in the Gulf Coast. America honors the strength and resilience of the people of this region. We reaffirm our pledge to help them build stronger and better than before. And tonight I am pleased to announce that in April we will host this year’s North American Summit of Canada, Mexico, and the United States in the great city of New Orleans.
He was speaking of charity. Good thing there’s been some charity — there certainly hasn’t been any federal commitment to rebuilding the Gulf Coast.
And irony of ironies — we have been told New Orleans simply couldn’t handle a Presidential debate (and I’m still angry at Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., Paul G. Kirk, Jr., Howard Buffett, John C. Danforth, Antonia Hernandez, Caroline Kennedy, Michael D. McCurry, Newton N. Minow, Dorothy Ridings, Alan K. Simpson and H. Patrick Swygert, the members of the Commission on Presidential Debates, for this incredibly unjust and bad decision), yet somehow, magically, New Orleans is fully capable of hosting a North American Summit.
How charitable of Mr. Bush.
That is all he had to say about New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.
They’re going to have a summit there.
Fuck you, Mister Bush. Fuck you.

Says alot about what the North American Union and it’s future “values”.
My husband turned it on toward the end. Right at the portion where he was talking about what “heros” our military families are and even Pelosi burst into applause.
A hero against our will for most of us so Nancy can sort of fuck herself too!
What has he done to deserve such civility?

and what better place to remind us of the nature of the new world order than the destroyed city of new orleans, as the poor are divested and the rich buy it up……

I watched the SOTU and there were so many lies, untruths and dissemblances…that I will be saying “Fuck You!” to him for the next month!
As a teacher I really liked how NCLB is so successful! And all that success in Iraq? estimated at 1 million dead because of him!!!!! A super “Fuck You!”
As I was watching the SOTU and listened to the Great Smirker, and heard him talk about the summit in New Orleans, these were my sentiments exactly.
