A commenter on BooTrib today stated that she heard from her Latino friends that Spanish language radio was engaged in a barrage of attacks, apparently some totally fabricated, on Barack Obama in the past weeks, if not months, and that this is what turned Latino voters so decisively against him.
It’s hearsay. I don’t know if it’s true. But if these stations have archives, and if people who speak Spanish can listen to them and take notes, then it’s verifiable.
And, once this “under the radar” false and scurrilous information is translated, with citations, and collected, someone could ask Hillary Clinton what she thinks of the media allegations that may have won her California.
Any Spanish-speakers out there up for doing something truly significant? Imagine when Hillary gets the sheaf of accusations dropped in her lap and asked what she thinks of them, one by one….

may not have been as large of a reason for their opposition to Obama as I thought.
It may be that they were knowingly, loudly, and repeatedly lied to by media that most of the U.S. cannot understand.
Now, who was Clinton’s Latino coordinator in California? Did he or she ever listen to the radio?
…i think it would be handled by the supporters there…
but, since i am neither spanish nor californian, i will wait and see what responses you get.
they’re going to need a lot more information about where (what station(s)) something was heard on and approximately when. The number of radio stations broadcasting in Spanish, especially in California, is huge. Many are independent and produce their own content. So you’d need to try to narrow the field and also know whether it was on a program or whether it was a commercial. In other words, to get the workload down to something more manageable, there needs to be more information.
