Saw his last show in Chicago. The man played for four desperate, soulful hours without a break. At one point I turned to my buddy and said the way he was playing it sounded like he thought he would never get another chance.
A month later the great Luther Alison succumbed to cancer.
God bless you Luther. As you used to always say, “Thank you very much. Thank you very very much.”
