81% of Americans say government should pay attention to polls.
In contrast to Vice President Dick Cheney’s dismissive attitude toward Americans’ dissatisfaction with the Iraq war, a recent World Public Opinion poll found that 81 percent of Americans believe that “when making ‘an important decision,’ government leaders ‘should pay attention to public opinion polls because this will help them get a sense of the public’s views.'” Moreover, in a sharp rebuke to White House press secretary Dana Perino’s recent claim that Americans only “have input every four years” regarding policy matters, the poll also found that “94 percent say that government leaders should pay attention to the views of the public between elections.”
Uppity, just plain uppity.
Except for the 19% who prefer to just keep grazing….

Believing that they are the parent and the voters are the children.
. . . So?
When you can have bars.
would also be stupid enough to go hunting with Mr. Cheney?
when your head is buried in the sand?
Just sayin’.
I mean, it’s like to the victor belong the spoils. The pirate who gets to the treasure first takes all the booty.
What’s the point of Winning otherwise?
Too. funny.
Thanks for the post…
With their opinions. Don’t they know they are supposed to be shopping and watching American Idol?
Next thing you know they will go and vote and stuff. Who told them to go think for themselves?
why aren’t that 70-80 percent outraged at this indifference?!?…….
moment had slipped by me. I heard it for the first time this morning on NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me”. Thought at first the audio clip they were playing was some kind of snark, or an edit of something else. I was dumbstruck when they gave the entire context.
Cheney’s utter lack of any kind of concern for what the citizens of this country think just reinforces my suspicion that these crooks are not going to leave the White House next year. The “Screw you” is so loud and clear it’s impossible to ignore.
As a side note, Carl Kassel was making a lot of hay with Obama’s minister problem. Mr. Obama’s supporters think this is going to go away because his speech was so impressive.
Mr. Obama’s supporters are wrong.
