I hit the zoo today because there are some new Lowland Gorillas residing in Memphis and I wanted to meet them.

These are the female Lowland Gorillas, they have a male who they can see through the enclosure but he isn’t officially hanging out with them yet. I love the expressions on their faces…

  1. I know people are bummed about FISA. So am I but going to the zoo cleared my mind.

  2. I love the first one of the orangutan…and the one with the boy smiling at Gibbon. But yes, those expressions on the gorillas faces are fabulous!!! Perhaps those more talented that I could come up with captions. That would be fun.

Thanks for sharing these. They DID brighten up my day!!

…if there is one, very likely will have to do with the word and concept of “happy,” a state which currently is eluding me.

I always enjoyed the Memphis Zoo, ucc.  Thanks for the pics.

    Good night all.

  3. are also “open threads,” I thought I’d say that I had thought about putting up a Funkaliscious Saturday thread titled “Guilty Pleasures” so folks could post the music they are embarrassed to like. What got me thinking about it was your conversation last night ucc with NPK about disco. My absolute favorite guilty pleasure is “Shake Your Groove Thing.” As I always say, its a good thing that I listen to it alone, because NO ONE would want to see my groove thing shake!!! LOLOL

Oh, and I just LOVE to watch Herb shake his groove thing!!!
