Liberal Media Bias? Into The Belly of the Beast

( – promoted by buhdydharma )

We continue to hear from the strains of Right Wing Hate Radio programming to the musings in conservative rags such as the Washington Times that the media has a Liberal Bias to the stories they cover.

The Neo-Con’s whine and cry and complain that the New York Times (to a conservative, synonymous with George Soros’ personal newspaper), CNN, The Washington Post, USA Today, BBC News, NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and on and on, are nothing more than the mouthpieces of the dangerous liberal movement in our country!  The Wingnut set decries these media outlets for only giving us one side, TEH LIBERAL SIDE, of any story.

Well, lets once again check into the world of teh Librul Media and see exactly what they have on tap for us.

Today we will venture into that No-Repulican-Man’s Land of The George Soros New York Times and see what those bastions of Liberal Media claptrap have up their devious progressive sleeves.

Hmmmmm, let’s see.  A story about the South Korean leader.  Nope, nothing to bash Bush or konservatives about in there.  Ok, next story!  This one compares and contrasts Senator’s Obama and McCain in a story by Michael Cooper and Larry Rohter entitled:

2 New-Style Candidates Hit Old Notes on Economy

Well, this could be where we find out that the liberal media IS biased towards all things tree huggin’ and latte drinkin’.  I mean, we know that Limpbaugh and Hannity have been bitchin’ about The George Soros New York Times since the beginning of the Neo-Conservative movement, so THOSE two well known leaders for the telling-of-the-truth MUST be right.  Right?

Let’s see!

For all the efforts of Senators John McCain and Barack Obama to portray themselves as willing to break with party orthodoxy to get things done, the economic debate that opened their general election campaign this week previews a classic clash. It is a battle between Republican supply-side economics and a Democratic tradition that uses government levers to try to reduce inequality and spur the economy.

Mr. McCain, who once opposed the Bush tax cuts in part because they favored the wealthy, has now made extending those cuts a central plank in his economic plan, which is based largely on the Republican credo that tax reductions stimulate the economy. And he is pushing another strain of fiscal conservatism that has not been much in evidence of late: a call for smaller government and a vow to cut pork-barrel spending.

He often adds a dash of populism, speaking against excessive corporate pay packages on Tuesday, and has pushed for a gasoline-tax reprieve. And while Mr. McCain has portrayed his tax cuts as benefiting the middle class, most of the benefits would go to the wealthy and to corporations, including his calls for the elimination of the alternative minimum tax.

My emphasis

Well now!  That is some pretty damning discussion regarding Senator McCain.  I mean, dayum!

Coming right out and saying that the Bull Shit McCain is spewing regarding how tax cuts on the rich will benefit the middle class really is Bull Shit is pretty ballsy of those reporter guys!

Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Fox News would NEVER resort to allowing unadulterated REALITY to come into play in their discussion of this topic!

Moving on to Senator Obama.

Mr. Obama often speaks of the traditional liberal goal of trying to redistribute the tax burden to reduce economic inequality, and at least in his public pronouncements has not emphasized the market-friendly, deficit-reduction aspects of the economic approach credited to former President Bill Clinton and former Treasury Secretary Robert E. Rubin in the 1990s. Mr. Obama’s plan would raise taxes on those making more than $250,000 by allowing Mr. Bush’s tax cuts on top earners to expire, and he has signaled that he would consider increasing the current cap on income subject to the Social Security payroll tax.

He has also proposed, for instance, more spending on providing access to health care, which critics say would widen the deficit when coupled with tax cuts. While Mr. McCain asserted in a speech in Washington on Tuesday that under Mr. Obama’s tax plan Americans of every background would see their taxes rise, Mr. Obama’s plan calls for cutting taxes on people earning less than $75,000 a year and for eliminating federal income taxes on elderly citizens who make less than $50,000 a year.

My emphasis

Well, what have we here?  Is that a critisism of Senator Obama’s fiscal plans we see there regarding not following The Clenis’ deficit reduction policies?  I thought Barack Obama walked on water and was above reproach over at Mr. Soros’ Newspaper!  Guess not.

Then again, what do we see in that second paragraph?  Some McCain bashing perhaps?  Hmmmm.

OK, McCain sez that Obama’s tax plan would cause Americans of every background to see taxes rise, yet Obama’s plan calls for cutting and / or eliminating taxes for people in certain situations.

OH!   I GET it!   What Senator McCain really means by people of all backgrounds is that rich people (who are the only people McCain understands the backgrounds of) will see higher taxes if Senator Obama doesn’t make Teh Deciders Rich-People-And-Corporate-Masters-Permanent-Tax-Holiday even more permenant.  Like maybe writing that into the Constitution or something.  Not that anyone finds THAT quaint document of much use these days.

So, in closing, I must surmise that no McCain’s have been harmed in the testing of this article, but a few REALITIES have been pointed out regarding BOTH Senator Obama’s and Senator McCain’s fiscal plans.

I realise that REALITY does have a Liberal slant, but once again, even after going into the belly of the beast, I find no liberal media bias what so ever.

Weird!

Tune back in on Friday, Saaame Liberal Time! Saaame Liberal Blog! to see what we may find then….

I just can’t find that damned liberal media bias anywhere!

It’s like looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq or something…..

  1. had an interview with Sen. John McCain June 9th that was little more than asking and getting McCain’s campaign talking points, no substantive questions asked.  Sen. Obama was not interviewed, which leads me to believe that NBC News has a conservative bias.  Or perhaps if you are a conservative that doesn’t count?

  2. you might find some ‘news’ in the ‘newspapers’….. nah, ain’t

    gonna happen  :-p

52,735,265,962 materials for the light bulb before being successful.  I’m sure you’ll find the liberal bias that is totally f**king up our country.

Seems to me liberals are conspiring with reality just to make it look like they’re always right.  Don’t fall for it, people.
