Muse in the Morning

He who experiences the unity of life

sees his own Self in all beings

and all beings in his own Self

and looks on everything with an impartial eye.

–Bhagavad Gita

Phenomena XI: uniting

Flow Lines

Primary Element

What could

even should

have been a time

to listen to one another

became instead a time

of antipathy

a time of distrust

of attack

of justification

of baser instincts

of pushing apart

rather than

pulling together

The strength of water

lies in it’s unity.

  1. … that’s something to reflect upon.

So now you are on the West Coast doing heaven knows what.  Still miss you.

    Here’s my offering (from 2004):

    Currents

    Streams of swirling high-rise air

     from open elevator doors,

And tunnels of wind blowing wild through

     certain corridors in labyrinth concourse

     beneath Rockefeller Center,

Or, in summer, walking out revolving brass and

     glass skyscraper doors,

    The wind hits you,

    Indoor refrigeration mixing

     with hot outdoor air,

    Musses up the city kitty.

Blows my hair all over my face.

    It’s startling,these

    Gusty manmade metropolitan breezes.

  2. quick in slow summer breeze, yes,

    then fade in the shade

    …or used to be

    dash after their mother

    through the sage

    and prickly poppies

    while desert tortoises

try to dine on my toes

Hope everyone is doing well.  I’m sneaking this message out in a bottle while everyone else went to the store to purchase the ingredients for making coconut macadamia pancakes.

Lee, Laurie and Mike (Debbie’s aunt, cousin, and cousin) just returned from Maui where one of Debbie’s younger relatives just got married.

I hope everything is going better than one might expect for everyone.

I don’t know when the next opportunity to check in will be.

    Robyn
