Meanwhile, Back in Crazytown….

Conventions, Olympics, shiny new politics of contrast ads from Obama, lots and lots of shiny stuff to distract us while our current Republican cartoon villians continue their disastrous and destructive dastardly deeds.

The Iraqis have finally stood up, it appears. In the only real way they could, in the way that they were always going to have to do to finally bring some semblance of peace to their illegally invaded, oppressively occupied and decidedly decimated country. Yes that’s right, they are finally standing up to the force that has created so much chaos, death and despair in the cradle of civilization. No, no! Not against the previously (before they were invaded) unseen forces of Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda is kicking ass in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Iraqis are standing up and booting out the REAL problem children in Iraq, the occupiers from the Bushwinked United States of Halliburton.

So as it turns out….the Surge HAS worked! The point of the Surge was to give the Iraqi government time to get its shit together and become a functional entity. Apparently it has become enough of one to do the one thing that needs to be done to get Iraq back on its feet after George “the torturer” Bush launched his illegal invasion…kick the US the fuck out.

In other news a new oxymoron was discovered today! In the nonsesical juxtapositional tradition of such amusing word play as ‘jumbo shrimp’ and ‘military intelligence’ comes the latest example of two words that just do not go together logically. Introducing: Cheney Diplomacy!

THAT should calm things down and keep us out of WW3! Unless of course Dick can figure out how to turn a profit….. On the bright side, US warships are steaming towards Georgia as we speak, who doesn’t want  a return to the good old days of gunboat diplomacy?

In yet other news….the FBI is seeking the power totally obliterate the outdated concept (apparently) of Probable Cause. Soon, if the have their way, and under the current Police State zeitgeist in which we live here in the Land of the Free they most likely will, unless say, someone like the democratic controlled Congress stops them, (stop laughing!) be able to open investigations and surveill anyone they want with no restrictions at all! Of course they will use these new powers for good, not to racially or politically profile and intimidate innocent people. At will, at their discretion, and with no oversight. Constitutional rights? We don’t need no steenking Constitutional rights! The Global War on Terror, coming to your house soon! But of course, if you haven’t done anything wrong, you don’t have to worry, trust your government! Or else.

And lest we forget Pakistan….you DO remember Pakistan right? Nuclear armed, one of the most nefarious shady and corrupt intelligence agencies, (the ISI) home of the most Al Qaeda and Taliban infested border regions and formerly propped up puppets of the Bush administration who has now been deposed after the assassination of his main political rival exposed their corrupt political power struggle? Well the coalition that deposed him has now shattered leaving a nuclear armed country that sold its nuke technology to all comers, without ANYONE even vaguely in charge!

Good times here in Crazytown! Let’s elect another warmongering, unstable, eltist Republican who can’t tell the players without a scorecard to be in charge of our nuclear arsenal! Who needs peace when global instability and spreading totalitarianism is SO much more fun! Crazytown RAWKS!

The only access to the Black Sea. Have they given their permission for US warships to sail through?

that the US is going to be tough.  Tough and stupid.  Fortunately our resources to engage our stupidity are somewhat depleted right now.

  2. and I was so hoping to chill with Cheney here in St. Paul at the RNC. Part of me thinks they had to come up with something for him to do so that he didn’t scare the Republican delegates.
