Down!

I am speaking to you today from the public library. This as you may imagine is not optimal! My puter has topped starting and the computer doctor says it needs a hardrive transplant, which can’t happen until Monday, when a new hardrive has bee flown in under tight security from where ever the hell it will come from.

Till then, my soul and spirit shall be bereft from lack of intertubes, at least when i am not at the library, which I will be, tomorrow for the anniversary festivities!

Til then…….sigh…..see you soon!

(faint crying noises….it IS a library after all and open weeping is discouraged!)

  1. If I can remember that far back, seems as though you had some similar problem last year.

Here’s to ending this particular tradition!

Good luck, buhdy, and sorry for your tech-problems.

  2. You suppose there’s any tinkerbell kind of magic we can pull off???

    I believe…sniff, sniff…I believe…sniff, sniff

    Is it working?

Any news about festivities planned for tomorrow? I was really hoping for a dharmathon to buy you a new computer. So I’m not thrilled about the idea of just replacing the hard drive.

    Kitteh Coup!!!!!   heh.  hehee.  HAhsahahahaAh.

    Ha.

what do you mean i’m being insensitive?

  3. Maybe this is a sign from the universe. Maybe while at the library or walking from the library you will meet a fabulous mysterious woman who whisks you away and makes you forget all about that silly computer.

Or maybe you just need a break from us. Whatever form your fun takes…. go have some.

sniff, sniff, I know just how you feel.

  4. Shoot.  I’m tempted to pack up my toolkit and head to Syracuse.

If what you need is a hard drive Staples doesn’t have the best prices, but they do have them now.  Even if I were there though I’d make you give me 2 days for a rebuild.

On the other hand I’m with NL that we’ll simply make it a week long celebration- much like last year when we kept pushing off launch because you were moving.  The more things change the more they stay the same.

Anything else I can do for you boss?  Pick up The Morning News?  Start some fights with other blogs?

  5. At least it’s a hard drive that’s replaceable!!!!

http://planetsmilies.net/sad-smiley-362.gif Sorry, you’re having such a headache right now, just on the eve of docudharma’s anniversary — it really sucks.  I know how it feels, too.  My computer literally “fried” back in March and I didn’t have one for two months thereafter — delay after delay with the order, etc.

Buck up, it will pass quickly enough!

…and just received a new computer for my office.  The first made me much poorer…and doesn’t give me access to some of the programs I used to use for my art.  The second crashes whenever I try to log out…so it can’t close because it is busy crashing.  It also came without the programs I need for teaching my programming classes.

Yesterday was a terrible waste of space, sitting in my office, watching a guy copy my stuff from one computer to another for 5 hours.

  6. . . . about celebrating your first anniversary in absentia, so to speak.  I don’t recommend it for married couples, however.  Happy anniversary anyway!

  7. So sorry buhdy. ACM sends his condolences too.

I can’t believe this happened right now. I agree with NL and ek that the anniversary celebration continue through the week.   It won’t be the same without you around.

  8. during the flame war. I guess it decided it was time out time. It’s like withdrawal or amputation. Howeve I rediscovered the outside, it’s blinding, after years in my parents basement in my jammies LOL! Try to enjoy your time away from the computer, it gives you a whole new outlook.
