“your playing small does not serve the world”

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us…

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do… It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Marianne Williamson

that’s for you RiaD. for your light. and my utter delight at watching someone with your power discover it through this incredible last year…

your growth and the resulting realization that you were always (in fact) unwilling to “play it small” is one of the wins for all of us.

But when we lose that fear then all we can do is succeed.

Yes, RiaD has lost that fear.  My goodness what a feeling that must be!

  3. …and Nelson Mandella’s(!)….favorite quotes, I can’t read it too often!

It is well worth tracing its origins as well.

And I agree with the sentiment as well, though I would say it has been fascinating watching everyone here change and evolve over the past year plus. Not always peaceful mind you, since real change rarely is….but fascinating!

  4. I don’t want to be a pain, but could you fix the title so it says, “Your playing small…” instead of “You’re playing small…”?  The grammar and spelling police have been all over this…

And yeah Ria is the best. But you are too, pfiore8…. so is everyone on this thread.

Youffraita, OPOL, Tahoebasher, metta, Edger, davidseth, buhdy… Ok anyone I missed.

But you two up top are half the reason I’m here!

    🙂
