Tapper: SCOTUS Rejects Case from “Fringe Anti-Obama Activists”

Remember the “OMG! Obama’s Birth Certificate! OMG! He’s Still A Foreignur Regardless!” nontroversy?

The Supreme Court has now delivered the ultimate thumbs down to the Black Helicopter crowd, and as ABC’s Jake Tapper notes:

As is the custom, the court did not make any comments regarding the denial.

Now, in fairness the petitioner, Donofrio, wasn’t arguing the whole “falsified birth certificate” canard. His point was that because Obama’s father was Kenyan and Kenya was a part of the British Empire at the time of Obama’s birth, that would make Obama…

…British:

Donofrio says that since Obama had dual nationality at birth – his mother was American and his Kenyan father at the time was a British subject – he cannot possibly be a “natural born citizen,” one of the requirements the Constitution lists for eligibility to be president.

One wonders aloud whether Donofrio would have raised the same objections to a son of Margaret Thatcher had she ever had a liaison with, say, Barry Goldwater in a moment of carefree youthful abandon. I’m thinking the answer to that hypothetical would be….No.

Speaking of youthful abandon, I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ve heard from these folks, who are now relegated to live in popular culture alongside the Repitilians Are Secretly Running Everything crowd. That these are – and I say this with love in my heart – kooks, doesn’t stop some on the right from daydreaming about How This Is The Issue That Will Bring Obama Down:

“It’ll plague Obama throughout his presidency. It’ll be a nagging issue and a sore on his administration, much like Monica Lewinsky was on [ President Bill] Clinton,” Farah said. “It’s not going to go away and it will drive a wedge in an already divided public.”

Joseph Farah is founder and editor of World Net Daily.

Hey, if this is the best they got, I hope they enjoy living in obsurity the next eight years.
