The Clenched Fist

In his Inaugural Address, President Obama told the Muslim world, “We seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect.”  He told leaders around the globe “who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society’s ills on the West” that their people will judge them on what they can build, not what they destroy.  He told those “who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, that they are on the wrong side of history, but that “we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.”

It would have been more fitting to target Republicans with that message, Mr. President.  You’ve extended your hand to them, but they will not unclench their fists.  You’re offering a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect, but they will not unclench their fists.  You’ve given them three fucking cabinet positions, but they will not unclench their fists.  Those mouth breathers will never unclench their fists; beating Democrats, liberals, gays, minorities, and the poor and the powerless to a bloody pulp is what they do, it’s hardwired into their lizard brains.

Republicans don’t build, they destroy.  They’ve destroyed our economy with their endless tax cuts for the rich and deregulation dogma, and now they’re lecturing you about economic responsibility. They’ve burdened America with the worst deficit in human history, and now they’re lecturing you about fiscal responsibility.  They targeted our middle class for destruction, they targeted our civil liberties for destruction, they targeted our electoral system for destruction, they targeted our justice system for destruction, and now they’re targeting your Presidency for destruction.  

You’ve said you’re a counterpuncher, Mr. President. Well how many times are Republicans going to punch you in the face before you start punching back? How many Republican liars are you going to listen to before you call them out? How much Republican hypocrisy are you going to have to see before you call it what it is?  

This is encouraging, but Republicans will smear it as a betrayal of the bipartisanship you promised. You promised bipartisanship, but Republicans are using it as a club to beat you over the head with. I’m just a blogger, but it’s apparent that someone has to explain to you what bipartisanship means to Republicans.  It means they get everything they want and Democrats get nothing, it means you have to get down on your knees and kiss their corrupt, fascist asses.  It means you have to smile when they kick you in the teeth, say thank you, and humbly wipe your blood off their boots.

That’s what bipartisanship means to Republicans, Mr. President.    

They have no respect for you and never will.  They hate you and always will.  They smeared you throughout your entire campaign for the Presidency, and now those peddlers of pork for war profiteers, pork for oil company thieves, pork for Blackwater mercenaries and Bridge to Nowhere governors and every job outsourcing corporation whose lobbyists oink loud enough on K Street are smearing your jobs bill as pork.  And it’s had an effect.  Too many Americans have the attention span of a tree stump, so Republicans are getting away with posturing as fiscally responsible paragons of virtue defending Americans from your socialist agenda and those wild-eyed reckless spenders in the Democrat Party.  

And what has your response been?  You’ve kept kissing their asses, you’ve kept solemnly promising to work with them to get a better bill, to seek their advice and input so “bipartisan” solutions can be found in Washington.  I have a better idea.  Solemnly tell them to SHUT THE FUCK UP.  Solemnly tell them their fascist rampage is over, their days of torching the Constitution, pampering CEO criminals, robbing Americans blind, destroying the environment, and parading around like God’s gift to the world are done.  They’re not a gift from God or anyone else, they’re a curse, a contagion of insanity and malice this country and this world have been subjected to long enough.

If you don’t clench your fists and fight back, they’ll undermine everything you try to do, they’ll sabotage every bill you try to pass, they’ll filibuster and obstruct and blame you for it.  They’ve drawn blood already and they’re just getting warmed up.  

It’s time for those clenched fist Republicans to see what a clenched fist in their faces looks like, Mr. President, it’s time for McConnell and Boehner and Cantor and everyone of those treasonous GOP fucks to see the clenched fist of karma, the clenched fist of justice, the clenched fists of their victims, the clenched fists of the millions of Americans they’ve lied to and betrayed, it’s time for them to see the clenched fist of the 44th President of the United States, the clenched fist of a fighting Democrat in the White House who’s seen enough, who’s fed up with their hypocrisy, who’s not going to put up with their bullshit any more.
