This guy is a fucking noob who was picked by the Governor of Colorado as a fill-in for Ken Salzar after he was picked by the Obama Administration to be Secretary of the Interior.
He’s seeking re-election in 2010, let’s hope he gets fucked in the primaries.
So since I have no campaign contributors for this guy I will have to focus on his “past experience” and how this fucking frat boy got the position because of who his daddy was.
Douglas J. Bennet, his father, was president of Wesleyan University (wonder what grades junior got at that school) as well as landing a cake fuckin’ job as the head of USAID. Afterwards he was appointed Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs by the Clinton Administration.
Interesting note about his presidency at Wesleyan:
The last several years of his presidency were mired in conflict, with a large student movement feeling that President Bennet’s fund raising priorities directly conflicted with the interests and needs of the student body, and the University’s mission of education.
Check out the article because it’s actually fucking awesome what they did to the dear old dad of this fuckin’ frat boy shithead that’s had his whole life handed to him on a fucking silver platter:
While President Doug Bennet stayed locked in his South College office, over 250 students gathered outside the building and later blocked the stairwells to protest a long list of issues related to a lack of student voice in recent Administration decisions. Standing for over four hours in the rain, students spoke out on an open mic and tried to bargain with Bennet to address their concerns with the whole community.
The students presented a 16-item issue list that included the WESU/WSHU deal, chalking, gender-neutral housing, hate crimes, and ethnic studies. Organizers passed out fliers titled “Open Letter to the Wesleyan Community,” which explained these concerns.
The letter states that, “the issues presented below are striking examples of the lack of Administration accountability and the absence of student voice in decision-making processes at Wesleyan.”
Bennet, with the help of Director of Public Safety Maryann Wiggin, tried to leave his office a couple of times during the afternoon, once to attend a faculty meeting. He was unable to leave, however, when students blocked his path.
“At that juncture there were so many students in the stairwell we had to lock our door because they were trying to come in here,” said Justin Harmon, Director of University Communications. “They were stomping their feet very loudly and yelling and creating a disruption that basically went on the rest of the afternoon.”
Some achieve greatness and others have greatness thrust upon them. Such is the case of a young Senator that doesn’t know the struggles of the average person in America who is suffering in this economy.
“Fuck’em, daddy said the banks will keep me in office!”
You know how this kids’s story goes: Washington Elite, lots of money, prepatory school, got through undergrad because his daddy was President of the university, gets the finishing degree from Yale, and shipped off to D.C. to assume the throne.
It seems that Michael Bennet is making sure the checks for his campaign are in the mail with this “No” vote on this housing bill and will be yet another example of Washington Elite’s nepotism bequeathing the paid for Senate seat to another member that will join the ranks of the Capitol Hill aristocracy.
The boy already has a prime spot on the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs:
(1)Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, to which committee shall be referred all proposed legislation, messages, petitions, memorials, and other matters relating to the following subjects:1. Banks, banking, and financial institutions.
2. Control of prices of commodities, rents and services.
3. Deposit insurance.
4. Economic stabilization and defense production.
5. Export and foreign trade promotion.
6. Export controls.
7. Federal monetary policy, including Federal Reserve System.
8. Financial aid to commerce and industry.
9. Issuance and redemption of notes.
10. Money and credit, including currency and coinage.
11. Nursing home construction.
12. Public and private housing (including veterans’ housing).
13. Renegotiation of Government contracts.
14. Urban development and urban mass transit.(2)Such Committee shall also study and review on a comprehensive basis, matters relating to international economic policy as it affects United States monetary affairs, credit, and financial institutions; economic growth, urban affairs, and credit, and report thereon from time to time.
Just look at that list.
He’s on that committee.
This “no” vote looks like he’s sending a signal out to the future campaign contributor speculators that he’s “bank friendly” and willing to suck the dick of the highest bidder.
The subcommittees he’s a member of just scream “I wanna get paid!”:
The Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance, and Investment oversees issues related to securities, annuities, and other financial investments. This includes the Securities Exchange Commission, the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The subcommittee also is responsible for oversight of government-issued securities, financial exchanges and markets, financial derivatives, accounting standards, and insurance.
The Subcommittee on Security and International Trade and Finance oversees export and foreign trade promotion, federal export controls and financing, international economic policy, and international financial and development institutions. International organizations or federal agencies that fall under its jurisdiction are the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the U.S. Export-Import Bank, the International Trade Administration, and the Bureau of Export Administration.
The Subcommittee on Financial Institutions oversees banks, savings associations, credit unions and other financial institutions, including deposit insurance, and e-commerce. It also oversees the Federal Home Loan Bank System, regulatory activities of the Federal Reserve System, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Office of Thrift Supervision within the Treasury Department, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and the National Credit Union Administration
The fact that this over-privileged fuck voted no on helping out 9 million Americans (and their families) who are struggling to keep their homes shows how out of touch he is with the average citizen.
His father didn’t give a shit about anything except making a profit and the students rallied to oust him, and eventually, they got their wish.
In 2010 let’s cut this fucker down before he becomes a huge money-tree for the investment banks and corporate fucks that can influence his vote and fucks anymore of us over.
