I’m going to provide another space for this, but mostly in the hope that people who feel the need to vent do it here and not bother those who are looking for a different experience.
It is ok to talk about dKos here, we don’t allow kos bashing.
dKos talks about dKos all the time. It’s an enormously self referential place. If it’s ok to talk about it there it’s ok to talk about it here (with the exception of I/P).
That said, most people come here because we offer original and offbeat content in a respectful and laid back atmosphere. Harshing the mellow doesn’t help you.
Even more than dKos we seek to make it difficult for you to harm each other while still allowing you to express negative opinions.
Because we’re Dirty Fucking Hippies.
If someone gives you a Wrong! it’s not only allowed but likely a mistake. Ignore it. If you are easily offended you need a gentler hobby than blogging anyway.
Most of the problems that lead people to think they’re being singled out here are software glitches that when identified we are seeking to work out with pacified who has a much closer relationship with On The Bus than with me.
I personally am not much concerned about what you post in your individual essays unless I’m considering you for promotion and even less so with comments, but if you are looking to enlighten and persuade being confrontational is unlikely to achieve your goals.
But we don’t enforce politeness either.

Oh. This iMac is so ridiculously easy to use. Telling you if they were a bit cheaper nobody would want windows.
We are all so all over the board.
One thing that would be interesting and outside of my skill set would be a candid look at what the hell happened to DailyKos and the potential for citizen blog(ger)s to impact politicians and policy. There was a time when I thought, it might, maybe, kind of sorta, actually work. Now, nah. Nothing is ever going to change.
So if political blogs on the left can’t change the policies of corporate evil doers, what can political blogs do? I feel like they are turning into a more sophisticated version of FaceBook. And Twitter, WTF is that. Does it have any value beyond graifying one’s self-aborption? When you have Senators twittering, it makes me want to avoid it like Swine flu. Anything that main stream has got to suck.
Well, I have to go off to work. There is a strategy meeting on what the hell MI is going to do with all of the unemployed people in this state. While I’m happy to help people retrain/upgrade their skills and credentials, I would appreciate some real conversation on the fact that there are no fucking jobs —- because the fucking Democrats gave them all away. Instead, we get party politics and happy shit from Obama and MI Democrats in charge. GM went bankrupt on top of a 12.6% unemployment rate. Houses haven’t been selling for at least five years, and they are offshoring IT and Engineering to India. Happy talk about current green jobs involves sheets of plastic and blow dryers and maybe enough jobs to re-employ 12 people. Meanwhile Obama took 57 million dollars in Dislocated Worker WIA away from MI and is offering us National Emergency Grants instead. NEG is crawling with Feds and demands a per person cost of 5k, including all tuitions, books, supportive services, career services, administration, and facility costs.
Oh well, enough of my bitching. Have a good day, and I am sorry my mellow isn’t. I’m just so pissed off and fed up with politics. I either have to vote for Ross Perot, Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, and Dennis Kuchinich, or leave the country – whichever comes first.

between a Wrong! and a Hide? I don’t see why one would choose to hide a comment they don’t feel is wrong.
And why do you even have a Hide function on this board? From what I’ve read by Buhdy and crew, the very idea of such censorship seems against the grain – with bragging rights established based on the time that has elapsed since the last comment was hidden.

Mostly I think ek is right you can disagree and we even have the occasional hot headed flamers. I have found that the flamers here are more of a learning experience from which you emerge with a different perceptive and a respect for the main rule of be excellent to each other.

A daily (morning, all day) Open Thread…?
I am having a usage issue, tried everything suggested. I can rec diaries, but not comments. I get the Pony, Wrong! and Hide buttons, can click them and it shows that I have, but it doesn’t get recorded. I have tried clicking to the side after rating, restarting, signing out and in, and even downloaded a patch to my java. Still can’t rate comments. Anything else I should try?
Visiting since day one of Docudharma, I have never felt the need to cuss, abuse, react badly or whatever to anyone on this blog!
(although I have had a few stalk me here to do so to me, but delightfully his comments were hidden)
