older brother introducing us to Zep, Sabbath, Deep Purple & Rainbow from his eight-track collection…through the MTV 80’s and Metallica’s gigantic contribution until my early 90’s discovery of all of the best from Rock ‘n Roll’s 50 year history.
I would not be alive if not for music. It is the air that I breathe and the blood in my veins.
used to work in this large old bank that had been converted into a restaurant that was owned by the mafia (so the story goes) as a tax write-off. business was always slow. well, the food business was slow, the drug business was robust! anyway, i was just a kid. REO Speedwagon came to play back when they was unknown noooobies.
so of course, i bought their very first tape, even though i didn’t own a tape recorder.
and with that silly introduction, here is “Golden Country” via youtube (which is a long, long way from cassette tapes.)
