Friday Night at Eight: Racists on the Run

Among a fairly large percentage of the population, there is only one real issue: Race.

They just canNOT handle the fact that The President of the United States is Black.

It touches and informs every issue.

But especially the Birthers, and whether Obama is an American or a Kenyan.

The money quote from the woman in the video is “I want my country back.”

She wants “her” country back from the scary Black Man.

So does Rush…

[LIMBAUGH: I think Obama is largely misunderstood by a lot of people. … We’re finding out that this guy’s got a chip on his shoulder. He’s angry at this country. He’s not proud of it. […]

Let’s face it, President Obama’s black, and I think he’s got a chip on his shoulder. I think there are elements in this country he doesn’t like and he never has liked. And he’s using the power of the presidency to remake the country.

So does Pat Buchanan…

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

… Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks – with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas – to advance black applicants over white applicants.

And of course my fav quote from Bill O’Reilly…

BILL O’REILLY: But do you understand what the New York Times wants, and the far-left want? They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure, which you’re a part, and so am I….

The context and attributions can be found here: Preserving the ‘white, Christian, male power structure.’

Racism is ignorance. Racism in its most blatant form can only exist in a segregated vacuum.

But that vacuum. is broken now, with an African American President committing the greatest sin possible to all bigots of every stripe in every area….he is “In Their face.” Everyday, and every single thing he does is viewed by the bigots through the prism of race. The result of that is that they cannot hide their racism. The result of their racism being exposed is that when ever it is exposed it is talked about. Which reduces the amount of ignorance and shames the racist. And then, after most of the Sturm und Drang of the raw emotion of exposed racism has died down, it is eventually beaten back.

The result of THAT, is that ignorance is educated and defeated. All it takes is sunlight.

Now we get to the interesting part!

Nearly, if not all, of the Right Wing issues that divide the country are based on bigotry and ignorance. The very theme of Big Government being bad is in part based on Big Government using White Folks tax money to help poor people, who are of course minorities.

War, abortion, equal rights, human rights, education, etc…. all have a racial component in the minds of the racists.

If racism, racists and ignorance of all stripes is beaten (eventually, lol) and on the run, how does that effect the rest of politics and society?

The President may not have been born in the Kingdom of Hawaii rather than the US.

Being “bipartisan” and “nice” to them would make them see the light and stop this kind of crap, wouldn’t it? They just want love like everybody else, right? Well, besides money and power, I mean. And their hate is a sad and pitiful cry for help, no?

    Fuck them.

  1. It was lurking in the wings during the election, and it was just a matter of time before, as Don Was wrote, out come the freaks.  What ugliness.  What’s remarkable, but not completely surprising, is how willing Trad Media are to shore this stuff up.  Makes me want to take a shower in Lysol.

  2. certainly an interesting companion piece to the essay from Winter Rabbit today here, that I just also finished reading, and trying to absorb.

While also, viewing tonight’s “Countdown” with Richard Wolff as Guess Host, talking to Robert Gibbs. Had some thoughts about that.

Oh yeah, and then Prof. Dyson was on too.

Hate that picture you put up there, buhd. ugh… lol. I did read a decent diary that touched on my perspective, at least somewhat.

I thought about my friend, a co-worker basically, several years ago, my Cambodian friend, who was actually… well, he self-referred, joking, “Heinz 57″… he was “mixed blood” too, but Cambodian, Vietnamese and German. Born around 1968, if I recall correctly.  He survived.

2010 Census report should be pretty interesting.

So maybe Obama, the Obama Era, will end up effecting some changes that we dont exactly anticipate in the way they eventually come around. Maybe. Remains to be seen, eh?

    Maybe… just maybe…

… Since the Age of Aquarius will last over two thousand years, it is difficult to predict what will happen in the centuries to come. It is expected that we will be going through a period of constant change and radical transformation. What is new now will be old tomorrow and so on into the years and centuries to come. If we keep progressing in technology and business at the rate we are, it may only be centuries before we achieve a plateau of our social and cultural development.

… As more people are empowered by education, nutrition and material resources we will see a leveling of the playing field in regard to the haves and the have nots. Presently there are many social and cultural barriers to people seeking opportunities, but in time people of any race, religion, sex and language will be able to enjoy the opportunities now only available to those in the industrialized countries. In time people will be able to earn more than they need to sustain themselves and then have time to pursue the arts, sports and educational activities that allow them to appreciate the marvels and splendors in the world and of the imagination. For too long humanity has struggled to survive. We hope that the Age of Aquarius will bring about an era of opportunity for all humanity.

    interesting source.

  3. The Limbaugh Corporatist Republican Party has a direct line of ancestry from the Confederacy of the South. With these modern CORPORATISTS, always, first are the “owners” & always, last are the “people”.

The Corporatist motto, their credo, their God, “PROFITS over PEOPLE!” “Our” CORPORATE MASTERS & their CORPORATE OWNED POLITICAL STOOGES are relics from the distant past, Kings, Plantation Owners, where the dark soul of GREED & POWER resides, forever preaching the Supremacy of the Wealthy.

CORPORATE EMPIRE is every bit as EVIL, as DIABOLICAL, as INSANE, as SLAVERY.

Today we need an EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION freeing us from our CORPORATE MASTERS & their Washington DC whores!

Racism bequeathed SLAVES & today racism’s echo spawns CORPORATE EMPIRE, the father of endless WAR & the worship, the total divinty of PROFIT.

    “ENOUGH!” – Let freedom ring!

  4. That picture doesn’t look half bad.

Of course, I’m a shamanic practitioner myself, but I’ve gotta say, if I saw that coming toward me in a dark alley in the otherworld, I’d stand aside and let him pass.

The stupid pathetic fucking racists can’t even make fun of him THIS way without his dignity, self respect and full awareness of his own competence shining through.

    They’re so toast. 🙂
