I’m Back. What’s New Everyone?

I’ve been gone for awhile now because of financial constraints and I’m now I’m back in Dharmaland.

I see some old friends and some new names here and want to use this essay to say hello and as a request for input about happenings I may have missed by having to rely on TV for political news and analysis.

Obama WON!!–and has disappointed me already by continuing Bush/Cheney’s campaign of secrecy and obfuscation.  I know he has an awful lot on his plate just now, but I would be a lot happier if Barack would make an effort to make good on some promises he made during the campaign about transparency and rights for all.

It’s good to see you all and I hope to learn a lot while I’m here (as much as possible before I have to turn the DSL off again).

  1. There’s a lot of good stuff I already know I need to read.

Knucklehead’s Friday pictorial was my first dip back into the pool and it was very refreshing.

I considered putting it on the front page, but as it was meta, didn’t.  Don’t know if that means it won’t get seen, but at least I tried.

    Glad you’re back, Boise Lib.

  3. We’ve had many informative and interesting diaries on your situation as the problem grows in this society.  Check out the usual suspects on the ID pages, you’ll find titles of interest.

  4. Boise Lib. What’s going on is something I’d like to know myself. The ‘reality based community’ seems to be going into a schism about what constitutes reality and is doing it’s dance of the pragmatic vs the enemy of the perfect. The country seems to be still run by the same assholes and Obama’s rhetoric soars but his policies suck. The DoJ is still grinding away at our laws both domestic and international.

According to some this is some ass backward thing Obama is doing to reverse the Bush’s nasty deeds but as far as I can see he’s just continuing with the same policies and rationalizations and calling it moderate and for our own safety you know. He’s a chess master who’s game plan is to pull change, right out of the hat that is owned by Goldman Saks. Believe it’s going to be small change indeed if anything is left after they have siphoned it all out the bottom into the too big void of free market looting. Heath care is getting the work over and same old is now reform, no options seem solidly on the table and 60 votes doesn’t mean a damn thing as Harry’s not about to bulldoze any dogs of any color.

Other then that and the fact that torture is still on the table and we just moved the war on terror to a different location I guess it’s peachy keen. This place keeps me sane, the new immigrants from dkos are great, we got some really good writers and new blood. There are no essay police on your ass if you stray off the two legs better path. So welcome home.
