Class War to be exact, as we can see from the most sensible proposal to pay for Health care…..Taxing the Millionaires who have gotten a free ride under the Bush Tax Cuts being shot down as soon as it was floated. ‘They’ have pulled out all the stops of the Mighty Wurlitzer of the Right Wing Noise and Influence Machine and it is playing full blast….and drowning out the voices of The People in the hallowed halls of what is supposed to be OUR government.

EVERY Congressional aide has said time and time again that by far the best way to influence Congress is to phone, phone, phone Congress. (e-mail and fax too!)
This IS The War, right here and right now, Health Care is the Battlefield. If we win this, it is The Republican Waterloo, it is the Blue Dog Waterloo, it is Victory for the People and defeat for the Insurance Company and Health Care hegemony arms of the Ruling Class….plus….
YOU get better Health Care!
If YOU want Health Care, YOU must do this.
If YOU want Equal Rights we have to win this battle first.
If you want accountability for torture we have to win this battle first.
If you want financial reform we HAVE to make this the Waterloo of the Ruling Class….or it WILL be Obama’s Waterloo….

But if we DO buckle down, work hard and win this battle we WILL break them. Each victory diminishes their power and exposes them for what they really are.
It is ONLY by starting….starting HERE….to break down the hold that the Ruling Class has on Congress and asserting the power of We The People that we will get meaningful Change.

Call YOUR Representative, (no matter how bad they are!) and tell them you demand a Public Option. Call YOUR Senators, (no matter how bad they are!) and tell them you demand a Public Option…..
And then go to the dairies of the Heroes of Health Care, NYCeve and slinkerwink and follow their action plans!

Is it time to build a wall around Washington?
As I said in Eve’s diary:
I begin my calls to my Congress people by saying that I/We want Single Payer. Since, however, it is obvious that Congress is not willing to give us what we want, then we demand the next best thing, a Public Option, a strong Public Option which has not been gutted by the insurance and pharmaceutical corporations.
This Public Option would be free from weakening factors like “triggers” and “quotas.”
I tell them that we will continue to work for Single Payer, and they (Congress) will eventually have to give it to us. In the meantime, we want a Public Option with teeth.
Nancy Pelosi has said “if’s off the table” or tantamount thereto. The Public Option healthcare plan, while it may be a start, is, IMV, full of “holes.” The wealth will gladly take the Public Option and afford themselves the very best insurance that money can buy, while the Americans will undoubtedly wind up with something lesser than an HMO plan.
We should demand that ANY healthcare plan to be adopted should be and become the healthcare plan for all government employees, as well.
