UPDATE: Beck to nutjobs: “It is not time to blow anything up” (with comment by Keith Olbermann!)

“When will someone stand up and say traitor!?”

~snip~

“The American way of life is being systematically dismantled and destroyed. The Republic is in danger. We are tired of everyone in the U.S. Congress, Democrats, Republicans, everyone, and they don’t care, but believe me, they better start. Otherwise, as I said on O’Reilly last night, we are entering the most dangerous time in American history.”

                 – Glenn Beck

“It is not time to pick up guns . . . It is not time to blow anything up”

I call bullshit on Beck’s pre-emptive Cover Your Ass job.

Glenn Beck and his insane on air ravings are brought to you by billionaire Rupert Murdoch and News Corporation.

I have listed all of the fear-mongering power words along with Glenn’s lone call to reason in order from first to last to show how the call to reason gets lost in the insane paranoia.

Dictator

Dear God

Begging

Stand up

Traitor

You’re too stupid to really understand

Take your rights away

Who said anything about blowing stuff up, Glenn?

Ooooo! Oooooo! I know this one!

How about it is NEVER time to pick up guns? How about it is NEVER time to blow anything up.

What Glenn Beck is doing setting up a way where he can say ” I told my viewers not to be violent, so it is not my fault.”

But two or three calls to sensibility get easily drowned out in the thousands of hours of hyperbolic theatrics that are designed to agitate the crazies into action.

Just a few days ago, Glenn Beck had this to say in the possible event of Right Wing inspired violence.

BECK: Just one lunatic like Timothy McVeigh could ruin everything

Correct me if I am wrong, but the worst thing about another Right Wing inspired Timothy McVeigh is NOT that it would hurt your political cause, Glenn. It is because people would DIE.

Even then, I bet you Glenn Beck still wouldn’t get fired by Faux Noise.

A hat tip to KingOneEye for this quote.

BECK: And if you hear me stop saying these things, it’s because I can no longer say them to you. But hear them between the sentences. Hear them, please. I will be screaming them to you.

    Hear the dog – whistle.

    Wink – Wink . . .

The paranoia knows no end. The fear mongering is so thick I could feed it to Rush Limbaugh.

The best part is the end, where you can tell that Glenn is not stupid, he knows damn well what he is doing.

Just imagine which parties Glenn describes at the end of his paranoid, anger toned rant, and tell me if this is an act of conscience doublethink and cognitive dissidence.

The paradigm is about to change.

The question is, which side will win.

There are only two sides, one that believes in freedom and the Constitution, and the rule of law, and common sense.

Or, people who will play by their own rules, do what they want, represent you in a fashion because you are too stupid to really understand, they will take your rights away, they will make the decisions for you, and they will become wildly wealthy, because they will do it with gigantic global corporations.

America, it is time, to figure out which side you stand on.

You have GOT to be kidding me.

Umm, which side will win? I know this one too. It’s the side that wins the elections, Glenn! So STFU!!!

You honestly can’t tell me this guy doesn’t know what he is saying.

And that makes him even more despicable. Stupidity can be forgiven to an extent. This is not stupidity, it is deliberate doublethink and duplicitous lying.

I’m glad Glenn Beck supports the rule of law, though. I hope he signs my petition, and I hope you do too.

But, getting back to the matter at hand.

Violence? Fear based violence? Whatever made you think that anyone has to fear violence form the angry, conspiracy theory fed lunatics who you inspire, Glenn? I mean, it isn’t like Democratic members of Congress are being threatened with violence, right?

    Right?

    That’s just crazy talk.

It is now day nine since Glenn beck called President Obama a racist and he still has not been fired by News Corporation.

UPDATE: a comment from the talented Keith Olbermann which can be found below in the diary I crossposted at Daily Kos.

Nine Days Since and they didn’t fire him (… …hey, that’s my line!)

Quit workin’ my side of the street!

No, don’t.

Keep this going. This is the real-life Lonesome Rhodes, believer in nothing, seller of anything. Point it out wherever and whenever.

KO, I will follow you to hell and back. Keep up the great work, brother, and keep Yelling Louder!!!

in freedom, the Constitution, the rule of law and common sense. My common sense tells me that Glen Beck is a paranoid lunatic and his right wing followers, duped by corporate and oil billionaires, are a danger to those four principles.

The tactics they espouse, fear, disruption and intimidation, are the same tactics that were used in Nazi Germany. To me, that is most repugnant and frightening.

Which is not protected by the 1st amendment.

Inciting people to violence, screaming at them that their lives are literally threatened and they’d better “do something about it” or else they’re “stupid” is beyond irresponsible, it is not protected speech.

Especially when it’s part of a multi-billion dollar media pipeline, deliberately spewing this stuff into people’s homes.

  2. nice score, MoT!

    heres the comment link

    you certainly have highlighted well

the danger that is Glen Beck!

    One thing though,

Beck proves that “Crazy sells” —

Or at least that it used to!

    lol

Crazy is as Crazy does, I guess.

    course that’s giving run-of-the-mill Crazy,

    a bad name!
