Back in August, barely 2 months ago, Senator Hatch (R-UT), displayed a graciousness and a spirit of bipartisanship, rarely seen among the Party of NO.
Senator Orrin Hatch on Ted Kennedy’s Life
The Situation Room — Aug 26, 2009
BLITZER: […] the issue that was the most important to him, health care for the American people, you were — you’re a member of the Finance Committee. […] And since this was so important to your good friend, Senator Kennedy, I’ll ask you directly, Senator Hatch — are you willing to get back into those negotiations with the Democrats right now in memory — in honor of Senator Kennedy?
You know how important health care reform was for your friend.
ORRIN HATCH: …
[Senator Hatch — are you willing to get back into those negotiations with the Democrats right now in memory — in honor of Senator Kennedy?]
ORRIN HATCH: On the right kind of bipartisan legislation, of course I would be. But they gave very little flexibility to Max Baucus, who’s doing a wonderful job and trying his best.
[…]And — and I’ll be happy to work in a bipartisan basis any day, any time, any — any week. And — and but it’s got to be on something that’s — that’s good and not just some partisan hack job.

My, my, my — What a difference 2 Months makes, when it come to the “spirit of working together”. Who says Bipartisanship is dead!
Yesterday, upon hearing the News of Public Option to be added to the Senate version of the Bill, Senator Hatch was singing a different tune:
Hatch calls new public option ‘window dressing’
By Matt Canham, The Salt Lake Tribune — 10/26/2009
Reid said the bill would allow states to opt out of the government-sponsored insurance, which would compete against private companies in the health-insurance market.
President Barack Obama applauded the move. Hatch slammed it.
“Simply putting new window dressing on the failed idea of a government plan,” Hatch said, “is absolutely the wrong way to address a critical national issue that affects every American life and every American business.”

‘Window Dressing’? …. Hmmm, you mean like this:
Woooo Scary!
‘Window Dressing’ …. is that anything like ‘Lipstick on a Pig’?
Perhaps, The Grand Old Party is just too tired to dream up anymore clever sayings?
After all their BS just isn’t selling like it used to!
BUT WAIT, Orrin wasn’t finished yet in his slamming. He still had one more hollow Talking Point to rattle off:
Hatch calls new public option ‘window dressing’

Make no mistake about it,” Hatch said, “once this entitlement has been implemented, it will be impossible to dismantle.”
That’s Funny Mr Hatch, I guess it takes one to know one — it takes someone who’s living with “Govt Entitlement”, to know just HOW Hard it will be to let it go:

You know what they call that Senator Hatch?
The Height of Arrogance!
SO Much for Bipartisanship eh, Orrin?
But when Hypocrisy, is just a “way of life”, for the Republicans, who can blame you if you feather your own bed, while you “curse the benefits of a good nite’s sleep” for the Public at large?
Will someone tell them, we haven’t forgotten the last 8 years:
There may be a few stragglers, who haven’t got it yet:
But here’s a News Flash, for you Fox cohorts — most of America has moved on already!
And about your Obstructionist, empty Hypocrisy, GOP — here’s some very nice ‘Entitlement Window Dressing’ for ya:
Hopefully the Wingnuts, can read between the lines!
Because After all their BS just isn’t selling like it used to!
(Not like it used to sell, all that well in the first place, lol!)
PS. Rest in Peace Teddy Kennedy, it looks like your hard fought dream, is about to come true (once Lieberman gets his Ponies, for his base).
Kudos to Ted for always fighting, the Good Fight!
If only such vision and perseverance, were in greater supply.

for the True Patriots.
is their way or no way. It had been that way since 1994. My question is when are the Democrats going to realize that? It would seem that most of the rest of the country has despite the MSM.
On that note, this is a terrible bill, so far. It is far from even coming to a vote but so far it is more of a give away to private insurers and big pharm. regardless of what wimpy public option is included. We might just be better off it it fails altogether except that it would set back any “reform” for 20 years.
