The muses are ancient. The inspirations for our stories were said to be born from them. Muses of song and dance, or poetry and prose, of comedy and tragedy, of the inward and the outward. In one version they are Calliope, Euterpe and Terpsichore, Erato and Clio, Thalia and Melpomene, Polyhymnia and Urania.
It has also been traditional to name a tenth muse. Plato declared Sappho to be the tenth muse, the muse of women poets. Others have been suggested throughout the centuries. I don’t have a name for one, but I do think there should be a muse for the graphical arts. And maybe there should be many more.
I know you have talent. What sometimes is forgotten is that being practical is a talent. I have a paucity for that sort of talent in many situations, though it turns out that I’m a pretty darn good cook. 🙂
Let your talent bloom. You can share it here. Encourage others to let it bloom inside them as well.
Won’t you share your words or art, your sounds or visions, your thoughts scientific or philosophic, the comedy or tragedy of your days, the stories of doing and making? And be excellent to one another!

Back to work. I am comforting myself by making cream of asparagus soup…

…where nobody noticed it…or, if they did, cared. Then again, given the visitation here in the last several weeks, it may be that nobody will notice it here either.
as others have said already above… I hope you stay, but it’s of course entirely up to you.
This place seems to be much more fluid than other sites. And…. stretchy.
I do appreciate the news you bring, and your personal stories and points of view. and your artwork too. If you leave, it would leave a big hole here. But I do tend to read much more than I comment in yours, partly because it is so far away and removed from my own personal struggles in life. Thats one of the reasons I like to read you. If that makes any sense.
In any event, whatever your decision … we’ll leave a light on for ya.
If you don’t change your mind and stay I’ll see you at kos darlin’.
I know you have been very down heartened as of late, I can tell by your comments here and at DK, yes, I look for your comments there as often as I can. I know the move was difficult and stressful and you had mentioned a possible return to teaching mathematics.
Your art work is inspirational, it would be greatly missed here and lost in a bigger blog like DK as would your input on a subject many people do not understand. This place is still worthwhile and you have many friends here who would miss you. We thought we had lost E.K., we don’t need to lose you. You are as much a part of this place as buhdy, E.K., ONB, and NPK. Take some time to consider where you head and your heart are. We will still be here for you.
Yes the wheel of the world will turn, and I regret not running into you. I’m not sure exactly what the issue is, but I gather there are few people who share your aesthetic perspectives and, diving perhaps, how they’re connected to your other intellectual pursuits?

Robyn, I offer you the following equation as a reminder of something that you already know.
(Tolerance + Forgiveness + Patience) x (Light)= Peace & Love
Keep letting your light shine!
