Thank You Father, Thank You Mother

Without our father and mother we would not exist, I give thanks to them today.

Our father and mother, the father and mother of all and every human being that has ever lived or ever will live are here with us today and everyday, and we thank them. Our father lives 93 million miles away, thankfully! His energy and light bathes our planet, every plant that grows grows because of him. Every microscopic creature, insect, and animal that eats a plant is eating the energy of our father, energy that we call…light.

Light converted into life, with the help of our beautiful and receptive and fertile mother, is converted by a miraculous process into plants. Animals eat those plants and we (their fellow animals) eat them. And thus do we live. And thus are we all made, ultimately, from the same thing, light.

Every particle of light from our father carries life itself, and the information of how to use that light, and an uncountable number of those particles rain down upon us like manna every single day. Without our fathers energy, not only would we starve, but we would be living on a frozen ball of rock, instead of living, every day, upon our beautiful mother.

The beautiful mother that takes the love of our father, expressed as light, and turns it into literally everything we have and everything we will ever have, know, or experience. Our mother gives us the water we drink, the food we eat, the process that creates each and every one of us and that has created each and every human that has ever existed, and will create each and every human that ever does exist.

She is teeming with life, in every crack and crevice of our mother life is produced, thrives….and creates more life. The will to life, the will of life, is the force that comes to exist from the union of our father and our mother sand is by far the most powerful force on earth.

Our mother is prolifically and endlessly and abundantly creative, giving life to the to all from the tiniest microorganism to the mighty whales and the majestic giant redwoods.

Everything we have, everything that we have ever had, everything that we will ever have, comes from the sacred union between our mother and father, creators and sustainers and nourishers of us all…..and today I thank them for my life and the lives of everyone I love, every one I hate, and of every human in the Universe….as far as we know!

For our father and mother are only one pair, one union of life giving beings, among the billions and trillions of celestial spheres that exist in this incomprehensibly vast universe. Who knows where else this sacred union of light and matter have created life, in this busily expanding universe that for today, at least….exists only to bring us Turkey and stuffing and mashed taters with gravy! Oh and football and the blessed relief of sitting back after a feast and unbuttoning the top button of our pants and heaving a sigh of satiated fulfillment. It is a wonderful life, a miraculous fact that this life even exists, and we owe it all to our mother and our father….even if we have none of those things.

For we still have the chance, the opportunity, the gift, of being alive. And of making that life into something worthwhile, and worthy, and deserving of the gifts that our mother and father bring to us every day.

And I am thankful for that.
