  1. I have given up on the Obama Administration. When Emanuel was appointed Chief of Staff, when Geithner and Summers were named, my darling wife expressed her dissatisfaction in what’s called “no uncertain terms” but I said Obama will be in charge and they will do what he wants them to do (which I still believe).

I said I’d take a wait and see approach, give him the benefit of the doubt and hold off criticism for six months.

    It only took five.

Either he’s forgotten his campaign rhetoric or he’s dishonest. He’s definitely not a fighter for whatever he thought was fiercely urgent last year.

And it’s going to be more of the same. More rewriting everything for the benefit of the worst types, all while posing as some sort of center left Democrat.

This health care bill is so horrible, yet is being hailed as a triumph for the people. I don’t need to mention the details because you all know them.

And that’s why I’m not around here much. Those of you here have your eyes open and can see what’s what. You don’t need me to point anything out. You don’t need me to say clever things like “Hopelessness you can believe in” or “Insanity is doing the same things and expecting different results so we must be doing this on purpose.”

I’ll go over to dKos and make snarky comments, replying to people who probably still think NPR is liberal radio. I like Wimpy because it’s a comfortable social group.

DD, though, sometimes depresses me with the political clearness I see here. We recognize what’s going on and I can’t help feeling that we’re in for more and more nastiness out of Washington with no solution.

The system is so corrupt that it’s like we’re in a “free speech zone”, holding signs, telling the truth, while those in power are far away, ignoring us.

I feel so useless over this situation that I feel like dropping out.

So, you know how at the end of Within You, Without You there’s a little bit of laughter? Imagine that, here. Ha ha.

Hope is indeed a long, and circuitous trail

Someday the “sweepers”, will step up.

there are no shortages of messes, to clean up.

    Progressive Party anyone?

  2. Hurricane Ida burst into the Gulf of Mexico as a Category 2 hurricane with 100 mph winds this afternoon, and is poised to deliver a solid blow to the U.S. Gulf Coast between Southeast Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle on Tuesday morning.

    snip

The intensity forecast has a high amount of uncertainty, and I wouldn’t be surprised at a landfall strength anywhere in the range of 45 mph – 80 mph. My personal best guess is a 50 – 60 mph tropical storm at landfall. Regardless of Ida’s strength at landfall, the storm will be able to dump 4 – 8 inches of rain along the Gulf Coast, from New Orleans to Panama City. Isolated tornadoes will also be possible, primarily to the right side of Ida’s track.

    great

A hurricane watch extended over more than 200 miles of coastline across southeastern Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. Louisiana’s governor declared a state of emergency.

Authorities said Ida could make landfall as early as Tuesday morning, although it was forecast to weaken by then. Officials and residents kept a close eye on the Category 2 hurricane as it approached, though there were no immediate plans for evacuations.   msnbc

…to spend some time here and develop some skills which needed work.  Thanks to all of you who helped with that.

But sometimes the audience changes and the purpose of going on seems to be lost.

The wheel of the world will turn.  Perhaps we will meet again in time.

  3. Therefore, I had to come and make this a little bit longer thread.

    🙂

    Gorgeous pic. Thanks for it.

  4. Go see it. Incredible. Or stay in and see it, once it’s on DVD release.

No trailer can do it justice, but here:
