The Poorrorists are Coming!

Do you know who the Military Industrialists fear most? The Poor.

Saw this article by journalist, Eva Golinger, wherein she decries the U.S. Military’s Orwellian rewrite of its own reasons for expanding Military bases in Columbia to fight the evil enemies of mankind.

Back in May of this year the Military explained to Congress why it needed mo money for mo war and just to keep empire alive to maw its way to Utopia.

“Establishing a Cooperative Security Location (CSL) in Palanquero best supports the COCOM’s (Command Combatant’s) Theater Posture Strategy and demonstrates our commitment to this relationship. Development of this CSL provides a unique opportunity for full spectrum operations in a critical sub-region of our hemisphere where security and stability is under constant threat from narcotics funded terrorist insurgencies, anti-US governments, endemic poverty and recurring natural disasters.”

Now, this is full-on Orwellian Military Speak. We got your Theater Posture Strategy and Full Spectrum Dominance sexuality going on. You got your terrorist insurgencies and Commies. You got a full trough of yummy reasons to cough up more dough so we can fight for things we don’t need.

But, this document was prepared for Congress and not the little brown people in South America with all their macho emotions and easily hurt feelings. The Military had to wordsmith a bit to ease the overwrought sensitivities of the School of the America’s Latin Lovers.

So, the Military came came back in November with revised reasoning for ramped-up military bases in Columbia. Same paragraph:

“This project at Palanquero best supports the Combatant Command’s (COCOM) Theater Posture Strategy and demonstrates our commitment to this relationship [with Colombia]. Development of this project provides a unique opportunity to support an important partner in a region of the western hemisphere where security and stability are under constant threat from narcotics funded terrorist insurgencies, endemic poverty and recurring natural disasters.”

Well, sure, we still got our “Theater Posture Strategy,” but we’ve a kinder gentler Full Spectrum Dominance now called, Supporting our Partners. Yippee! From America the Bully to America the Boy Scout in one fell swoop.

And look, the dreadful phrase about “anti-US Governments” has been stricken. Chavez, Morales and Lula can sleep well tonight.

But, thankfully, “endemic poverty” made the cut both times. And since we have been ‘at war’ with “terrorists” and have spent nearly a decade and gazillions to fight those pesky ideological nut-bag rag-heads, it makes sense that ‘narcotics funded terrorist insurgencies’ is on top…but a close second – Poor Folks.

I had to look up endemic. It’s a big word like COCOM. It means: Poor people for as far as the eye can see. Here is a sample sentence: Outside the electrified, fortified gates of Party members, the poverty was endemic.

And you know what else ‘endemic poverty’ is according to our military? A constant threat to security and stability. Isn’t that strange? Poor folks are a threat to the world’s only Super Power. What danger are poor people, unless, you know, they slobber all over you with their typhus or something. All poor people want is a meal and protection from war lords. How do they threaten us?

They threaten Business-as-Usual. Poor people in revolt snarl traffic and make bad public relations for Brand Names engaged in slave labor. Endemic Poverty is created through anti-Democratic policies enforced by, uh, force. When the people resist their slavery is when the slave-holder moves to protect his property.

For instance take Venezuela. Hugo’s got a demotic revolution going. He’s Nationalizing (or Democratizing in a democratic society – something quite foreign to Americans) his Resource production. He’s distributing the profit from these resources back into his own People’s welfare. He has made things better for the folks at the bottom. He has reduced poverty and increased services. Though he runs an authoritarian regime he wins popular elections because life is better for “the many” – otherwise known as “the poor.”

How are things doing in Colombia, our Israel of South America?

About half the folks live under the poverty line and the rest are poor, except for the few at the top, same as it ever was. What’s more, while Chavez has his demographics going in the right direction, Colombia continues to decline and fall into war and despair. Thanks largely to America’s unalterable support of regimes which inspire insurgency. Indeed, America inspires Freedom in a way we never intended.

We’ve got more than 700 military bases in more than 130 countries around the world. We have made George Washington’s admonition against foreign entanglement a mockery. Why does the US have such a massive military footprint globally? How many terrorists, rogue states and natural disasters are there for us to fight and defend?

Not that many. But do you know what there are lots and lots and lots of? Poor People.

By our own Military’s admission the central war of the United States of America is a CLASS WAR.

These so-called “narcotics funded terrorist insurgencies” are really just poor, nationalist armies of liberation gobsmacked about why there is a US Military base in their country which ensures the survival of despots – because to a withering Empire, despots are key to the fragile “security and stability” of plunder and pillage.

We are fighting against the defenseless poor and the resisting poor. Period. We are fighting to have our way in the world against those lives and property we, by fiat, decide what is best.

The United States under President Obama is doubling down on the Bush Doctrine of “Fuck the World”. We continue to spend trillions for wars against words. They can give you the names of a hundred enemies if they need to. Nouns, verbs and adjectives of the scariest kind. Names of monstrous villains. Descriptions of blood-curdling terror. Buzzwords for Idealist Principles of Evil.

But they will never tell you the truth because the truth won’t set you free but make you sick in your heart.

The global war is a class war of the rich against the poor.

And this is one war which will finally come to the homeland of the United States. The divide between rich and poor Americans is the greatest in the world. We all know the statistics. The social contract between capital and labor has been destroyed by capital. The point of capital became cheap labor to increase profit. America is a rapidly growing unemployed consumer society based upon a war economy. There is no moral conscience in the politics of corporatism. People are less than numbers. They are mere corpuscles of collateral damage. Does it matter if your life is literally or figuratively blown up? Whether or not you lose your house to a smart-bomb or a toxic loan?

Unless you belong to the Party of Davos. There is an elite which runs the world and has for a long time.

In the fall of 1993 a corporate lobbyist, exasperated by my opposition to NAFTA, stopped me in the corridor of the Capitol. “Don’t you understand?” she demanded. “We have to help [then-Mexican President Carlos] Salinas. He’s been to Harvard. He’s one of us.”

Her reference to “us” seemed odd. Neither she nor I was a Harvard graduate. So it took me a while to get her point: “We” internationally mobile professionals had a shared interest in liberating similarly mobile global investors from regulations imposed by national governments on behalf of people who were, well, not like “us.” Despite the considerable social distance between Salinas and both of us, she was appealing to class solidarity.

Indeed, the elite fully understands what is coming. Your own countrymen are part of this elite and they care not the slightest thing for you or any concept of you. Political unrest is already here with more on the way. Our economy, in spite of the airy-fairy green shoots of the grand delusion, is bound for more catastrophe. The right has been mobilized into a Corporatist Brown-shirt Army of nattering nabobs masquerading as Constitutionalists. The Left has had its tongue cut-out by the Democratic Party of corporate appeasers. The laws are fixed to protect the corporations at the top of the pyramid scheme, while those human beings below fall into the Darwinian dog-eat-dog circle of Dante’s Inferno. We are set against each other to fight over literal bread-crumbs and long-dead gods.

The Right has been focused to fight for Christian Nationalism against the NWO by the very forces they’d be against if they owned an ounce of wit. They have been trained to demonize fellow human beings as the enemies of Jesus, embrace their poverty as sacrifice and aver toward an end-time utopia which materializes after SIN is wiped from the world. The Right fights against meaningless words like Socialism and Communism while Corporatism and Fascism are looked at in Romantic wonderment. How many of our Greatest Generation Political Elite were for Hitler before they weren’t. How many of our young ignorant skin-heads wear the Swastika as a badge of fealty to the Dark Side of human folly?

The Left has been de-materialized by the lies of hope tap-danced by Barack Obama. The Democratic  Party makes the Left look like a sucker born every nano-second. The Democrats are the other side of the Corporate coin but the Republicans are worse we say. Worse for who? Tell that to the billions around the world who live under American forced domination. Empire is bi-partisan. Tell that to the millions of Americans sliding into oblivion while we prepare to bribe the Taliban with billions to accept their occupation with grace. Tell that to the US Troop sent overseas for reasons she can’t understand because the people we ‘liberated’ don’t seem the least bit grateful. Tell that to the VAST MAJORITY of Americans who crave Peace and Prosperity more than Pillage and Plunder: who want Universal Healthcare and not some Snake Oil Public Option which is neither public or an option: who want an end to imperial wars and not escalation: who want corporations brought under the control of society and not to dominate society through the outright bribery and blackmail of our represent-the-highest-bidder political class.

If you are not already, the chances are very shortly you will be an enemy of the Corporate State based upon your class designation. You’ll be a debtor who can’t pay, but must pay because it’s the law. All of your labor, remunerated at the least possible amount allowed, is garnished. You think you live on peanuts now, but you’ll live on peanut shells then.

Back in September 2008, the Financial Elite held a gun to the head of the political class and threatened violence in the streets if they didn’t get their way. You’ll recall the first bailout bill did not pass in the House because popular support was very much against the People paying for the Ponzi-scheme losses of Profiteers. But a week later, the financial elite had their way and the Coup against the American People was complete.

But the tip of the ice-berg is growing. The cookie continues to crumble. The facade of piety disintegrates into the visage of greed. The Middle Class, a relatively new concept, is going the way of the Dodo. Soon it will be back to what humanity has endured for all of our recorded history. A tiny, rigid class hierarchy perpetuated by force with the mass of people under its eternal thumb.

In spite of our early revolutionary success we did not heed the revolutionary spirit well enough. We sold eternal vigilance to asleep-at-the-wheel and now we have hell to pay.

some kind of crazy kink in the hardwiring to have hoped humanity might someday grow out of its feudalist sociopsychology. So long as feudal caste divisions rule the human roost, there is no other ism but capitalism. Which is feudalism.

    of Spartacus.

And they haven’t yet figured out that if they weren’t they wouldn’t have to spend billions upon billions on propaganda to keep Spartacus down.

Expensive way to make a little profit. You’d think they’d have figured out by now what cost control is, and how it helps the balance sheet.

    Idiots.

  1. Interesting tangent of watching the silly Tiger Woods episode was the the high security gated community he lives in. The State H/Patrol even had to check in at the gate to get access.

Before long these ultra-rich enclaves will have there own mini-predator drones patrolling the territory, as well as their own taser equiped security forces.

Probably already has happened, we just don’t know it yet.

  2. A picture of the Davos place was featured in an unlikely place.  I couldn’t believe it when I saw it and I thought Oh My God, in plane sight indeed.  At the time MTV was on.

Oh well, the US has exceeded the Nazi formula and raised it to galactic new heights of globo-corpo fascism.  Heading even into the pre-crime thought police regime.

Osama bin Laden again enters the propaganda cycle as pilots for 911 truth says the flight 77 cockpit door was never opened during the entire flight.  This is from an analysis of the flight data recorder.

Oh and how dare these peasant nobody commoners sneak into Obama’s first state dinner just to get on a “reality show”.  Ya, it’s a post 911 world alright.

Now to the most important question.

    Do you know anybody yet?

My wife does.  A co-worker got her daughter the shot.

She came out of the coma but is still in the hospital with autism like symptoms.

    The mother is decimated.

    This is the Definitive Answer

I have not words for how profoundly correct this is,

This everything, everything microcosm to macrocosm.

This essay is really the thing no one will respond to, but we will all vibrate forever with. It is the truth. The answer. Reality.

I hate to go against my “religion” but this should be posted at the Great Orange Satan.

I cannot praise these words enough.

  3. The hi-tech laser guided bombs we use in Afghanistan or Iraq, developed by well paid engineers, and other technicians are used against fairly poor people in those countries.

You don’t generally see these weapons used against the upper classes of any country anywhere.

Totally with you on all fronts.

    It’s about slavery.

I do have one quibble though.

We need to get out of the War frame on this.

It’s too close to GWOT – it doesn’t change the intellectual venue, the way it needs to for those of us who are sleeping to all to see clearly.

I have said, many times, that it’s a war on People – take care of your people, you’re a terrorist leader.

Go against the market as a population – you’re terrorist insurgents.

It’s how we keep the world in line to protect the interests of United Fruit!

It’s also how we finance our debt if Thomas P Barnett is to be believed.

    THe endgame is slavery.

We’ve just got to change the frame from war to something else.

Personally I like Mainstream Corporate as a gateway drug.

It allows us to use the very well understood and ubiquitous language of money to speak euphemistically about death, poverty and exploitation. Or death and poverty as tools of exploitation.

There’s a cognitive disconnect out there that’s very close to popping into focus for many, many people.

We just need to get the language right and have it spoken.

The lie is very, very big, but it’s on very tenuous footing right at this moment.

Obama is a huge impediment to this mass realization taking place.

Peace and thank you for the magnificent essay!

That’s one to save and spread around!

    Great work.

Salinas, ugh.   Do you know that he killed his family maid when he was 12 years old?  Shot her in the head.  It was covered up.

Raul, who as firstborn was honored with carrying his father’s first name, was only one year and seven months older than Carlos. As children, they shared the same room, went to the same elementary and high schools, took piano lessons together, and even shared the burden of a childhood tragedy: When Raul had just turned five and Carlos was three years old, they had together with an eight-year-old friend killed the family maid with a .22-caliber rifle.

According to December 18, 1951, Mexico City newspapers, the children had “executed’ the twelve-year-old maid, named Manuela, with the rifle, which their father had left loaded in a closet. The published reports, which had mysteriously disappeared from Mexican libraries by the time Salinas had become a public figure, said that it was not entirely clear which of the youngsters had pulled the trigger. The children had been playing war games, and Manuela was condemned to death. They had asked her to get down on her knees, and one of them had shot her.

“Carlos, when asked what had happened, said, ‘I killed her with one shot. I m a hero,’ the daily El Universal said at the time. La Prensa lashed out against “the irresponsibility of a father who having children under age, allowed them to get near a .22 caliber rifle.” It said the children’s crushed mother, Margarita Salinas Lozano, was spending the day and night at the police station next to the children, “who, totally ignorant of the intense drama they had caused, were running around last afternoon along the corridors of the Eighth Delegation police station.”

And we thought the Bush boys were sickos.

Can you believe this shit isn’t even in his wikipedia entry?

Salinas is just plain fucking evil.

  4. “The only deserts are deserts of the imagination. Gaviotas is an oasis of imagination.” -Paolo Lugari

    Gaviotas.

Gaviotas is a village of about 200 people in Colombia, South America. For three decades, Gaviotans – peasants, scientists, artists, and former street kids – have struggled to build an oasis of imagination and sustainability in the remote, barren savannas of eastern Colombia, an area ravaged by political terror.

They have planted millions of trees, thus regenerating an indigenous rainforest. They farm organically and use wind and solar power. Every family enjoys free housing, community meals, and schooling. There are no weapons, no police, no jail. There is no mayor.

The United Nations named the village a model of sustainable development. Gabriel Garcia Marquez has called founder Paolo Lugari the “inventor of the world.”

In the early 1980’s Gaviotas began planting a Caribbean pine tree in the otherwise barren llanos of eastern Colombia. These trees were able to survive in the highly acidic soil with the help of mycorrhizal fungus applied to their roots. Over the years, this forest has expanded to approximately 8,000 hectares, or 20,000 acres. The presence of the forest has altered the local climate by generating an additional 10 percent rainfall, which also supports Gaviotas’ water bottling initiative.

  5. Heard this on Thom Hartmann’s radio show, just had to look it up….

Arming Goldman With Pistols Against Public: Alice Schroeder

Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) — “I just wrote my first reference for a gun permit,” said a friend, who told me of swearing to the good character of a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker who applied to the local police for a permit to buy a pistol. The banker had told this friend of mine that senior Goldman people have loaded up on firearms and are now equipped to defend themselves if there is a populist uprising against the bank.

…talk of Goldman and guns plays right into the way Wall- Streeters like to think of themselves. Even those who were bailed out believe they are tough, macho Clint Eastwoods of the financial frontier, protecting the fistful of dollars in one hand with the Glock in the other. The last thing they want is to be so reasonably paid that the peasants have no interest in lynching them.

And if the proles really do appear brandishing pitchforks at the doors of Park Avenue and the gates of Round Hill Road, you can be sure that the Goldman guys and their families will be holed up in their safe rooms with their firearms. If nothing else, that pistol permit might go part way toward explaining why they won’t be standing outside with the rest of the crowd, broke and humiliated, saying, “Damn, I was on the wrong side of a trade with Goldman again.”
