The Twilight of Class War

(Cross-posted from The Free Speech Zone)

As I write this, the assessment of what the Health Reform Bill has in it and what it provides is still being looked at, however there is only one thing that even the liberal news outlets don’t deny is in the bill yet they seem to not see any problems with this.

The plan calls for those who may suffer “hardship” to be waived from being responsible to purchase a health plan.  I picture many middle-aged liberals sipping their wine at their computer chairs thinking it covers all those that aren’t them, you know, the ones whose kids get “free lunch” at their children’s school.

Well, this is not the case.

Recently I filed for assistance with food, bills, and health care coverage seeing how I needed to renew as well as had the nerve to marry within (or lower actually) in my social class.  Our combined income per month is a little over $1300 with me going to school and working part-time while my wife does full-time.  Seeing how rent in my area is $1000 and up and moving in with any one of our parents would cause financial hardship on either one of them, that leaves maybe $300 for food, bills, etc.

It is because we make over $1,217.13 that we don’t qualify for assistance.  Our combined income does that apparently.  So, it stands to reason, that denial of assistance is because they don’t see us in the realm of “hardship”.

The other reason is due to the fact that my wife has health insurance coverage that’s limited, but can include me.  For the low low price of $200 extra out of her paycheck every week.  This is more than my $60 visit monthly to the doctor with an added $25 for prescriptions between the two of us.  The math made sense to keep me off her plan to make rent.

The Federal assessment of our “hardship”, I have learned recently, will be the same exact process.  We will be compared on the national average and most likely be determined to have the ability to purchase a plan and receive tax credits or face penalties for not purchasing a plan. This will push us already further into debt and with the recent hijack of my pay by TD Bank of 3 of my paychecks along with Bank of America’s overdraft fees without proof of overdraw at any point in my summary, I won’t be able to take the hit. I will be forced into more overdrafts of my account with fees and never get out of the hole.  A hopeless and endless cycle many suffer currently as well.

If it is true (I am getting confirmation that it isn’t crazy conspiracy bullshit) that this will accompany the threat of jail-time for not being able to pay the taxes, then many like myself have been given a federal prison sentence while our representatives handed private industry a captive audience that will make them $70 Billion in the long-run.

Throughout my entire activist existence I have remained “peaceful” in the sense that damage to property and self-defense were as far as “violence” went in my book.  No harm be done less ye be harmed was my creed.  With this backing into a corner, with a federal prosecution charge being dangled over my and my country’s head, I will no longer be on the defensive and many others have pledged the same.

You’ve been warned.
