DiSTRACTIONS

(midnight. – promoted by ek hornbeck)

As usual, on Fridays I post a set of images from my photo shoots to distract you from your week to week travails.

This time though, I`m posting them to distract myself.

My wife was in a bad car crash on the highway Weds. & though she is just now back home, she`s still a lot of worry.

The man pictured with me in the first set is a friend of 30 years.

I should mention, he just turned 90.

He is a world recognized expert on Orchids & has 100`s to his name as a breeder of hybrids.

Here are a few pix of the dozens & dozens I shot at the orchid ranch a few days ago.

They are on an “original size” file at flickr. (click on the image)

There are single images below the crease.

I couldn`t  carry on without paying homage to some “Finned Friends”, who have gotten familiar with me.

These are from a pond I built, another pleasant source of distractions for me.

I also strive to reply to all comments & questions, related to the posted matter or not.

  2. Your friend looks great at 90!  Best wishes to your wife man, I hope she’s OK.

  3. What are the names(genus/species/whatever) of the second and last orchids in your close ups?

I ask only because that’s what I currently now have blooming.

Thanks for the beautiful flowers and fishies.  In the second to last orchid photo I see a mouth with fangs.  I will call that one a Vampire orchid.   Bwahahaha!

The orchids are stunning (& the fish are cute) — thanks for these Friday night wonders.

that your lady is home. I hope she is healing well, mentally as well as physically. I know she is in good loving hands. It great to see that she is well enough that you could share your Distractions with us. After this last week, we all need to be distracted. Take good care of yourself, too. TMC
