Why is Kos Such a Hater?

Markos is a hater!  Responding to a fund-raising email from Obama kos says, in part:

Obama spent all year enabling Max Baucus and Olympia Snowe, and he thinks we’re supposed to get excited about whatever end result we’re about to get, so much so that we’re going to fork over money? Well, it might work with some of you guys, but I’m certainly not biting. In fact, this is insulting, betraying a lack of understanding of just how pissed the base is at this so-called reform. The administration may be happy to declare victory with a mandate that enriches insurance companies, yet creates little incentive to control costs or change the very business practices that have screwed so many people. But I’ll pass.

I am no genius when it comes to a complete understanding of the details of this legislation.  But I know what a monopoly is and I know you can’t regulate a monopoly no matter how many laws you pass or how many goodies you hand out to mask the fact we are about to give billions of dollars to … a monopoly.

Without a public option, there is no counter to this monopoly.  Insurance companies win.  The rest of us lose.

  1. … to me.  Even the weakest public option is a foot in the door to breaking what is now virtually a monopoly.

And the Senate bill is just a shitload of toys they wish to dangle in front of some of the folks who may benefit from this or that toy in the bin.

Ah well, what do I know.

for kos. He let it happen when he started banning and alienating those of us on the left.

  3. To forbid discussions of politically signifigant events is the same thing as saying the earth is flat, or only 6000 years old and created in six days by “The Lord” thy God.

I have a choice of media via the internet vs TeeVee.

One gives me Lady GaGa and Tiger’s Woodie

And the other gives me the USSS Hillencocker, an orbital space ship in the secret space program.

What is more entertaining than that.

  4. I think I need to go for a walk. A long one.  I thought the monopoly you were complaining about was dKos and the guy behind the curtain himself. Yeah, I didn’t know that Kos had received billions of dollars, so what, I was willing to forgive the hyperbole especially in the area of revenue.  But now I’ve come to realize that you were talking about another monopoly, the one involved in health and insurance.  Wow.  Who would’ve thought?

This is definitely a job for Metastopheles the Smiter.

  5. came out from behind his orange curtain and blew some smoke, yikes. I saw him on Countdown last night and I could tell his professional pundirt demeanor was slipping. He really went off on the whole senate (it doesn’t work) and didn’t pull any punches about the new and improved version of how to get blood out the ‘irresponsible’ turnips by making them buy junk. So will he get HRed into oblivion sent to the corner for a time out?

  6. Now how about organizing a big slate of primary challenges?

It’s may be hard to get Progressives to vote for incumbent Dems next cycle, but it sure will be easy for us to vote against them.

thanks for pointing this out, npk.  saw that he posted it, but no time to look at comments.   scanned them quickly.  if the whole thing wasn’t so fucking sad, it’d be truly hilarious.

  7. the comments, whew! The really rabid ones were all over it. Scary this! It’s surreal that you gotta fight through a sea of zombies like when you call the pols on bad policy and demand that they do what they were elected to do represent you.

The GOS effectively neutralized a huge amount of activist energy and channeled a flood of grassroots campaign resources into the campaign of the black Tony Blair, Barak Obama.

We now have most of the evils of Bush/Cheney rule presented with the smooth, urbane, charming touch of Brand Obama (insert Obama photo porn here). Markos must have a very sick feeling in the pit of his stomach right now. He was manipulated into create a deformed monster of a false populist blog, and now he can’t even control it.
