… meet Bobby
He’s a street dog from Romania. For some time, it seems, the strays there have been rounded up and killed, sometimes brutally.
There are good efforts to have the strays neutered/spayed to cut down on the population; there have been good results but all apparently cast aside as the culling continues.
I stumbled into this, looking for a dog in a dutch shelter. I saw this site, Stichting Dogs Adoptions Nederland and just starting scrolling pages.
When I saw Bobby, I thought: here’s the guy for us. So I called to meet him and that’s when I found out that this is a Dutch foundation that helps Romanian dogs.
Bobby will be flown into Brussels airport sometime in March.
The adoption fee is 225 euros. That includes his flight, he’s neutered, and he has a European passport (for dogs okay nc?). I pay this when Bobby has arrived and I have custody of him.
But I could not help myself. Last night I donated 100 euros to them on behalf of Bobby. Two of the people involved here in NL will be flying to Romania to check out another shelter. It’s freaking 20 below there. But they go to help fellow earthlings.
No matter how hard the bad guys try to keep us from finding the good guys, they manage to shine through anyway.

can’t wait to live with a dog again!
Im sure Bobby will fit right in with the family…heh, new family members are SWEEEEEET!!! 😀
You fox, you.
Seek a place to express what you feel. Goody.
Here’s the deal, however, sweetheart.
You and I are among traitors to the constitution.
Keep this in mind as you blog.
We owed two. A Saint Bernard and then a Golden. Funny thing. Our grand dogs are a Golden and a Saint Bernard. Our daughter must have really loved her childhood pets.
Wishing you and your pup many happy, warm, and content hours together.
Two legs just keeps on fucking up.

What a wonderful thing, pf8!
I don’t think Romania, has ever been known for “kindness” — turns out, too, one of our rendition torture sights was/is in Romania.
One thing you can say about most “western” Europeans is that they love their animals and take exceedingly good care of them. A friend of mine in Geneva, even had a will set up in case she somehow went before her dog.
I assume that “heeft” is the one in the video. He is beautiful and, you can see he is so willing to love and shows his need for love. He’s wonderful! Mazel tov! Plus, a slight resemblance to “Bear,” n’est que c’est pas?
I share in your happiness for this event to be!
YaY for YOU pfiore!
i know how forlorn you’ve been without a fur-friend.
how wonderful for bobby that he’s getting such an awesome fur-less friend!
