LOS ANGELES – Jay Leno might get another another chance to reign as late-night king at NBC.
The network, contemplating disppointing ratings for Leno’s new prime-time show, is weighing a plan to return him to the 11:35 p.m. EST slot he held for 17 years as “Tonight Show” host, a person familiar with the discussions said on condition of anonymity over a lack of authority to address the issue publicly.
“The Jay Leno Show,” a nightly 10 p.m. talk and comedy program that debuted last fall, has drawn lackluster ratings and complaints from NBC affiliate stations that the show has provided a weaker lead-in for local late newscasts than past NBC series.
Television Executives are stupider than you.

NBC might be lookin’ for a new talk show host for that 10:00 PM slot? Somethin’ to appeal to real Americans lookin’ for good, wholesome family entertainment? Also someone who can draw a crowd?
Hmmmmmmm . . .
… shows are watched by most of those with disposable income either off the DVR or TiVo or else they so rarely watch TV they only turn on the television for a specific must watch show.
… a “tomorrow’s show is about the same as today’s show” previously watched by people tuning in regularly for the evening news and then watched until they fall asleep does not actually rate BETTER when moved in after all those 9pm shows being TiVo’ed.
I’m … wait a minute, what is that feeling I’m feeling? … oh, yeah … shocked.
