Tonight I think some Peace & quiet is warranted.
I`ll try & blend in Earth Day with my usual eclectic mix.
I added a few images of how corals can be propagated in the back yard,
from a “mother” coral.
Rather than take them out of the oceans, one is all that`s needed.
From that one, small fragments or “frags” are then grown out to produce more & more.
In some cases, this is being done to replenish damaged reefs.
In my hobby, not only corals but many fish & clams are being aqua-cultured.
I`ll open with a little Peace & Quiet I built for a client.
The Jacuzzi is a saltwater one on a separate system from the pond below it.

I hope you like this mellow presentation this week.
You know I post them for you, to distract you, albeit maybe only momentarily, from your normal daily stresses.
I alway try & answer all questions related to (or not) to my posted images.
If you have any requests for any kind of images, I may have something that might fit the bill in my archives, so it may be worth a try.
Bring it on.
Peace
I’m diggn’ it.
And geographically, we’re not so far away. Peace and stuff, regardless.

I took this shot of a fall flower (oct/sept) in Holy Ghost Creek Canyon in Northern New Mexico a few years ago. Always wondered the origin of the Holy Ghost name, probably a good story.
They were all good, but I think “Yellow Ribbon” was particularly striking, with the contrast between the bright yellow and the shadows. “Variations on a Theme” also caught my eye in particular, with its vivid, colorful detail. I thought “Red Guard” was interesting too, with the contrasting blooms ghostlike in the surrounding darkness. Oh, and I liked the double rainbow as well.
Not that I didn’t like them all, however.
I do have a question: How did you take the photos of the coral? Are those taken above water, below water, or through a glass partition, maybe a lateral view of an aquarium?
Thanks for sharing your great photos with us, Knucklehead! Definitely a pleasant Friday Night Distraction!
“Yellow Ribbon” is exquisite — the background wood is perfect.
“Sunset Sentinels” — beautiful, peaceful, serene!
“Variations on a Theme” — hummmm! Japanese Iris with “raindrops” or “Knuckdrops?” Taking a picture outdoors does make a difference. LOL! Beautiful!
“First” is striking — but even more striking is the intricate stamen set-up — really amazing!
Merci beaucoup, Knuck!
And your visual essay (as usual) is appreciated immensely this Saturday Night.
How are your cacti and succulents doing with all this rain?
Some of mine are looking kind of soggy.
I look at a lot of 18th and 19th century hand painted botanicals, and your “First” reminds me of them; delicate but quite striking.
Thanks Again Knuck—
