- We’ve gone from recession to recovery.
- We’ve made more progress in the war on terror in the last eight months than was made in the preceding eight years.
- We’ve strengthened our relationships with our allies around the world.
- Two million people or more have jobs today who wouldn’t have without the bold action taken by this President and Democrats in Congress.
- We have the first Latina and only the third woman ever on the Supreme Court.
- We’re using science and fact in policy making instead of ideology and politics.
- We have the most transparent Administration in modern history, with tough ethics standards, and we are wringing the influence of special interests out of the policy making process.
Oh, and Republicans == bad.

Inspiring words which will surely lead us to victory in November.
nothing else matters. But so far as I see, power is more entrenched than ever, and DC is political theater to mask foregone conclusions. Manipulation is at an all-time high, saturating virtually our every decision. It’s amazing to watch how Democrats have sold their principles for the money and power on a variety of fronts.
The difference we make is marginal at best. The one hope is that regulators who care about regulation may have an effect before long to start to turn the ship of state in a more proper course.
But if Obama does as before, as is his history and pattern, there will be no change as promised, except in name.

Eight months ago I had problems sleeping at night. I would lie awake in a state of some anxiety, wondering if the terrorists were going to make a successful attack on the homeland.
Now that more progress has been made against Al Qaeda in the past eight months than in the previous eight years I have been able to get in my regular seven hours.
It’s important to have CiC who has the intelligence to win the war on terror.

I’m 50 – in the 90’s I was busy transitioning from … cooking on fishing boats in Alaska 20 years ago, cuz cooking on the beach was offering me 22 or 24k a year, to getting my math b.a. on a shitload of debt, to finagling myself into the seattle dot.bomb thing AND even working database support for 2+ years at microsoft!
