Core liberal values
Freedom of (and from) religion is a core liberal value. There are good reasons why core liberal values are fundamentally American values embodied in our Constitution deriving directly from Enlightenment philosophy. The following anti-rational, blindly racist and stupidly insular sentiment (emotional outburst?) common to current right wing “thinking” is decidedly anti- or counter-Enlightenment in its expression on so many levels as to be automatically revolting to a modern, liberal mind:

Liberalism defines modernity. The exact specification of liberalism will vary between taxonomists, but some very general themes emerge from a period of time designated as the Enlightenment.

The Forever Cupcake
Hey Obama! Trying to be helpful again! Look, I pretty much noticed that the party is adrift, with no clear theme heading into the midterms. In fact, I do believe they are marching into the traditional circular lines. The October surprise, they all pull the trigger on themselves.
It’s just what Democrats do if you don’t give them direction. Think about it Obama, FDR has his New Deal, even that son of bitch LBJ had his Great Society, which did give us civil rights and medicare. Not that communist shit that Canada has, which was actually LBJ’s plan, until the US Senate got a hold of it.
A Senate with a Democratic Majority as well.
Fighting history there my friend.
But instead of having some kind of holy purity war that ends like the bonfire for the vanities, the Democrats can do something they use to be good at.
The economy and jobs.

US Flood Aid Equals Two Hours of Pentagon Budget
Now that the United States has increased its aid for victims of the recent floods in Pakistan to $150 million, that grand total is just about exactly as much as the Pentagon spends every two hours, 24 hours every day, 365 days per year.
For the 2010 fiscal year, the president’s base budget of the Department of Defense rose to $533.8 billion. Adding spending on “overseas contingency operations” brings the sum to $663.8 billion.
Divided by 365, that’s about $1.8 billion per day, or $75 million per hour.
And 120 minutes of that enormous and never-ending flood of money is all we can afford for the millions of victims of one of the greatest natural disasters in modern history.

Dear Mr. Dean;
FUCK YOU!!, I’m sitting here watching you try to pull your foot (feet, up to knee?) outta your cake hole. What the fuck are you saying, compromise, compromise with who? A bunch of idiotic racist assholes who’s idea of negotiation is ‘my way or the highway. LOL what tripe.
These folks are AMERICANS, building a community center for the community that happens to have an area dedicated to prayer. They have the incontrovertible right to that practice, the local government approved it and it’s done. Try and change that, go ahead you and your fellow apologists and watch what happens, whats left of our eviscerate rights will be ‘negotiable’ Hmmm. Unfuckin real. This isn’t a popularity contest, poles are not relevant, no vote no discussion, they have the right to do this at 51 Park as well as all the other places they, the Muslim community are.
Not only does this spit in the face of what America is supposed to be by violating the right to practice ones religion I’ll bet it ends up coming under bills of attainder when the govt. tries to back out of the approvals already given to these AMERICANS.
And people wonder why I’m done with the frackin Dems. You don’t negotiate with EVIL, you don’t compromise with morons, you don’t back down when you right. You don’t tell others they should do those things either, they shouldn’t. They should stand up at the statue of liberty, Lincoln memorial, and every other statue, building, bell, hall and revolutionary battlefield and shout ‘What aren’t we entitled to our rights?’ ‘Is this great experiment only applicable when the white right says so?’
If and I’m betting on when these AMERICANS need help defending their inalienable (what a laugh) rights I’ll be proud to pitch in.
