Wednesday, Sept 22, 2010 Headlines, we have headlines….
1. Rahm Emanuel Could Leave White House In October.
I’ve always wanted to type this, and now I can:
Anonymous White House Aide says Anonymous White House Aide might be leaving the White House.
If he chooses to go forward with the mayoral race, Emanuel intends to be sensitive to the fact that his dual role could create the appearance of using his government office to his personal advantage, say two people familiar with internal deliberations.
__
The aide says Emanuel will not make a decision about whether or not to run this week, but was otherwise vague about when the decision would be made – or exactly when he might step down.
2. Larry Summers, Director of National Economic Council, to Leave White House After Election
Again, the 3 anonymous Horsemen of the Impending Electionypse were quoted:
…. according to three people familiar with the matter. His departure would leave Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner as the only member of President Barack Obama’s original top-tier economic team. Summers, 55, and the president have discussed his future plans, according to one person.
Administration officials are weighing whether to put a prominent corporate executive in the NEC director’s job to counter criticism that the administration is anti-business, one person familiar with White House discussions said. White House aides are also eager to name a woman to serve in a high-level position, two people said. They also are concerned about finding someone with Summers’ experience and stature, one person said.
Dear White House.
About that token genderism thing.
We are not fooled by how the present is wrapped if we’re still finding it still doesn’t fit.
So that’s Peter Orszag, Christina Romer, Larry Summers, and perhaps Rrrrahmbo Anonymous gone. That leaves Timmy Geithner. Who now has to look at Elizabeth Warren.
A curious omission was made yesterday in the MSM headlines on just which political party voted against cloture on getting DADT overturned in the Senate. They kept saying Republicans. The roll call vote shows otherwise.

I went to the Northwest Arkansas online newspaper site, which covers the Bentonville Walmart hometown area, to see what sort of headlines they’d have after this splendid act of heroism, and here’s what they have to say on their homepage this morning about Plantation Blanche this am, right under the ad for Turkey Sausage Biscuits:
4. State GOP files complaint over Lincoln mailings
The Republican Party of Arkansas filed a complaint Tuesday with a U.S. Senate ethics panel, charging that Sen. Blanche Lincoln illegally mailed a pamphlet earlier this month describing her tenure as chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
The lead story under the NWA News page is

Abortion Protests Shift to Planned Parenthood
Hey, how’s that bipartisanshipthingee workin’ out for y’all ?
November 21, 2009. “Let me be perfectly clear, I am opposed to a new government administered health care plan as part of comprehensive health insurance reform, and I will not vote in favor of the proposal that has been introduced by Leader Reid as it is written… I’m prepared to vote against moving to hte next stage of consideration…. – Democratic Senator Blanche “There Will Be No Public Option” Lincoln, on the Senate Floor.
Lincoln is currently ranked 7th in Democratic Senate fundraising for this cycle. She is the top recipient for oil and gas industry donations, getting over a half million during her entire political career, and at least $12,000 from BP, the company responsible for the world’s largest oil spill.
The League of Conservation Voters noticed this.
No mention outright of Arkansas Democratic Senator Pryor, who also voted with the Republicans against ending DADT, but as I commented yesterday, his biggest contributor is Murphy Oil, per opensecrets. And it just happens to be Murphy Oil CEO Claiborne Deming who’s one of the big backers of charter school privatization down in Arkansas, along with the Walton Walmart Family of Low Low Prices every day. Follow the Charter Money at the Arkansas Times.
As is now well known, the U.S. has fallen from first in the world in the proportion of adults that hold two- or four-year college degrees to fourth. Even more worrisome is that, among young adults — those between the ages of 25 and 34, the U.S. is no better than tied for 10th, and now trails nations in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Each year for at least the past four, the U.S. has fallen in these comparisons.
Have I mentioned that Walmart is using the Tea Party locally to promote building new Walmart Big Box Stores here in Northern CA ? http://www.facebook.com/group…. The Developer’s spokesperson for this proposed WalMart project just happens to be the local Tea Party Patriots spokesperson, too.
So, just what has former Arkansas homie and ex President Bubba Bill Clinton been up to, lately ?
“When he {Pres. Obama} got elected, the first thing he said was, ‘I don’t want any investigations into the Bush years; I want to go right ahead. We want to get this country moving again,'” Mr. Clinton told host Bob Schieffer. “He kept thinking that he would find some partners in the Republican Party. He didn’t.
___
“Would it be good for [Obama], in a way, if he lost the House and the Republicans came to power and had to share some of the responsibility here?” Schieffer asked.“Well, I think it would increase his chances of being re-elected,” Clinton said. “Whether it would be good for the country or not. I don’t know. You said that’s part of the narrative.
Some more Bubba headlines this am- my goodness gracious, he’zza been a busy man.
6. Clinton says Dems can win in November
7. Bill Clinton: Russian immigrants “obstacle to peace” oh, uh, Oy.
An increasing number of IDF soldiers are children of Russians and settlers, who are those most strongly opposed to dividing the land, the former president said. He noted this was a serious problem, and that Israel had changed – some 16% of Israelis now speak Russian.
8. Bill Clinton endorses Jerry Brown in CA Governor’s Race, Calls CA Legislature Most Creative
9. Bill Clinton Endorses Muslim Center Near Ground Zero
10. Bill Clinton Blames Colin Powell for “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”
11. Bill Clinton Expresses DADT Regret
12. Bill Clinton explains his Quasi Vegan Diet To Wolfe Blitzer
The next time somebody tried to blame the leftie or indie bloggers for what’s going on in the political chatterverse with the Democrat’s media perception problems, maybe they could take a trip down Ark Kansas and chat up some of the locals or alumni about what’s really going on. Oh, wait, but…. we really need a villain du jour for the rotation.

…. instead of indulging in this triangulating ****.
I cannot BELIEVE I got the html to work on this the first time after one edit.
I’m exhausted. Too bad you can’t get endorphins from this sort of effort ; )
I think that’s so hot.
well that’s a new tack.
He is perfect for Chicago politics –
I should but don’t know who else is or may run. He’ll have plenty of money and we can expect to have the President involved, hectoring us on a local level.
Oh joy!
I don’t live in City anymore – but Chicago politics dominates the collar suburbs.
Redraw the Illinois boundary to include parts of West Kentucky, West Tennessee (where I live) and all of Arkansas.
Presto! No more Arkansas senate problem and I actually get to vote for President without totally wasting my vote (that assumes we actually get a real Democrat running for President someday).
