Presidents collaborating with corrupt, illegitimate, duplicitous foreign governments, EVEN THOUGH counter-insurgency doctrine says you must partner with a viable, legitimate government to do COIN, otherwise you’re just supporting one group of bad actors over another (the Viet Nam mistake), now….

    in the Greek classical sense.

Domestically – LBJ was a good president.  He never got we couldn’t just go in and clean stuff up.  That attitude continues.

As a woman on Medicare – I appreciate his political skills for the working class.  I can’t deny him.  Surely there’s no Dem in DC now who is looking out for us.

On my ever expanding reading list:  Robert Caro’s biography of LBJ.

I know this is politically inept on a left blog – but I’ve a soft spot for him way down.
