CIA paid Liverpool buyout tycoon millions…to use his jet for ‘torture’ flights

Paid by the CIA: Philip Morse, right, with ex-U.S. president George Bush Sr.

Oct 17 2010 – A jet owned by a senior executive in the US firm which has bought Liverpool Football Club was chartered by the CIA and used in flights allegedly linked to the rendition of terror suspects.

The plane is owned by Phillip Morse, 69, the vice-chairman of New England Sports Ventures, which bought the club on Friday for £300million.

An investigation has established that between 2002 and 2005 the CIA chartered the plane from Mr Morse for millions of pounds and made extensive use of it.

Inquiries by the European Parliament and human rights groups have linked the plane to alleged extraordinary rendition operations which took place during the same period.

A European Parliament report {eight page pdf} linked the jet directly to the abduction of Abu Omar, an Islamic preacher, who was snatched from a Milan street by the CIA in 2003 before being taken to Cairo. {read rest}

    In-light, especially with what has come out over the years, in the Chilcot Iraq War Inquiry, other Countries Government Inquiries and reports still coming out especially as to Iraq but also Afghanistan, Canada should do more then just re-think their policy! The U.S., as to same, should take another look at those who once again fled to Canada and allow them to return if they so wish, with no criminal charges hanging over them!

    Activists urge Ottawa to ditch army-deserter policy

    In this file photo, Phil McDowell, left, a former sergeant in the U.S. Army listens as Michelle Robidoux, an organizer with War Resister’s support campaign speaks during the Toronto branch of the support group’s meeting at the Steelworkers Hall in Toronto on Feb. 21, 2007.

    Oct. 16, 2010 – U.S. army deserters and their supporters on Saturday urged the Canadian government to jettison an immigration policy they say prejudices their cases and violates international refugee law.

    The policy, which came to light this summer after being posted under the name Operational Bulletin 202, flags the refugee claims of U.S. deserters for special attention from Canadian immigration officials.

    It advises immigration officials that desertion is a serious offence in Canada and the United States. As such, army deserters who defect to Canada and file refugee claims may be deemed ineligible for asylum.

    The practice “prejudices their cases,” said Michelle Robidoux, a spokeswoman for the War Resisters Support Campaign, on Saturday.

    Mr. Hinzman served in Afghanistan in 2002 and 2003. He applied for conscientious objector status when the Iraq war began, but was denied.

    In 2008, he was ordered deported, but Hinzman, who is still in Canada, appealed, saying he will be jailed if he returns to the U.S. {read rest}

  1. Hummmm… I guess the stench of sulfur reaches back as far as the CTer’s say it does. They at least ought to give back Geronimo skull. The upside down crazies and the loyalist Democrat’s see nothing wrong in this line of bloody succession, in that they are united. President’s deserve respect, they are after all our leaders. It’s just political reality and we can’t have people breaking the law or questioning the necessity of keeping the wolves at bay.

    Our monies are still going there and the Bush/Clinton rotation continues to pull bogus legal and political contrivances out of there asses . The planes will continue to fly the scary people to the dark holes and we all know the Democrat’s at least feel their pain. We all agree that these are the evil ones. We have to do these things as the Taliban would kill yer family and they treat the woman badly. War mongering is just PR for our by-partisan consumption, as the boatloads of money has always flowed to those who’s interests are maintained by the Spook’s.

    Feds Confirm Mumbai Plotter Trained With Terrorists While Working for DEA

    Oct. 16, 2010 – Federal officials acknowledged Saturday that David Coleman Headley, the U.S. businessman who confessed to being a terrorist scout in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, was working as a DEA informant while he was training with terrorists in Pakistan.

    Federal officials, who spoke only only on background because of the sensitivity of the Headley case, also said they suspect a link between Headley and the al Qaeda figures whose activities have sparked recent terror threats against Europe.

    The revelations came after a report Friday [1]  by ProPublica and the Washington Post that the FBI had been warned about Headley’s terrorist ties three years before the Mumbai attacks. Headley wasn’t arrested until 11 months after the attack. {read rest}
