(UPDATED!!!) WWL Interviews Noam Chomsky Jan 7

Bev gave me my choice of five dates, and I of course picked January 7th, the first Friday of the Year! His commute from the office will not have him there until 6:15, but there you have it!

A heads up to this kind population, before it scatters… so many beloved and brilliant people I will miss.

I have had the honor of talking via email with Noam Chomsky last night and today.

He is truly a warm and kind person, beyond being one of the most brilliant minds of the century.

He has agreed to talk to me on Wild Wild Left Radio after the first of the year, and had me contact his assistant to set up the specific date.

So stay tuned to The Wild Wild Left for details. It should be January, February latest.

I am not only honored, but touched by how kind his response has been to me. Kindness goes so very far.  He thinks she can get me in early January, or February if need be, but she really knows his dates better. He can agree, but she has to do the sticky work of fitting it in.

He absolutely wants to do this. He is just an amazing human being.

Friends, this is a gift. A huge gift for us all, to be able to ask questions of one of the greatest minds the Left has ever produced. It is a gift of information, knowledge and above all, wisdom.

It will be easier yet for me, because of his kind words thus far, and utter openness in responding to me… I already like him personally.

I will let you know as soon as Bev sets a definitive date.

But per Professor Chomsky’s choice, it is a done deal.

Process and phenomenon

Absolutely everything you have ever experienced in your life, including your life, has been the process of a series of vibrations.

Absolutely everything you have ever seen in your life has been nothing more than a phenomenon.

Grandma’s Buttons

Mad crazy busy these past few days. Productive, though, and I’ll have some goodies to share here maybe later today. Meanwhile, in the midst of the remodel mayhem (garage/laundry room) and other stuff, Kid’s school pants broke a button last night. Well, sometime yesterday, but it only came to my attention at about 10 P.M. last night. :-/

“Oh!” said I, “Let me go for the Grandma stash and find a button to replace it.” I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, I’d find one to fit.

“Kid?” I said, “Remember how I told you that Grandma was the ultimate original Packrat? who grew up during the Depression and she found a(re)use for everything? No waste. She knew to recycle, before it was hip.”  So, yeah, I’ve got buttons for anything and everything.

The Secret Transfer of Nuclear Materials

START {Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty} needs to be restarted, which was totally scrapped in the previous administration and republican congresses, and vigorously negotiated, with total common sense goals, to rid the planet of these Weapons of Total Mass Destruction!!

All these places had their moments…

There are places I remember

All my life, though some have changed

Some forever, not for better

Some have gone, and some remain

All these places had their moments

With lovers and friends I still can recall

Some are dead and some are living

In my life I’ve loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers

There is no one compares with you

And these memories lose their meaning

When I think of love as something new

Though I know I’ll never lose affection

For people and things that went before

I know I’ll often stop and think about them

In my life I love you more

Though I know I’ll never lose affection

For people and things that went before

I know I’ll often stop and think about them

In my life I love you more

In my life I love you more

If Sarah Palin Did Not Exist, It Would Be Necessary to Invent Her

The celebrity gossip website TMZ has published an immature tirade/flame war involving two of Sarah Palin’s daughters, Willow and Bristol.  In it, both Palin daughters frequently exchange profanities with other posters and Willow, aged 14, uses a homophobic slur.  This exchange, carried on over Facebook, was in response to a poster’s criticism of their mother’s new TLC show.  The whole story would be little more than the softest of soft news, unless their mother had not set herself up to be the eventual leader of the party which claims sole rights over morality.  There is a certain gotcha, gutter journalism quality to this story, in keeping with many Palin revelations, but it also fits well within the canon of what we already know about their mother.

You will not find this information anywhere else. However, I have told this information to at least 500 people in person. One person was from Homeland Security and two others worked for the IRS and despite my attempts to contact the media, there is nary a word on any media outlet. What is this information? The IRS does not shred any of it’s print runs. They send ALL excess printed material intact to Great Lakes Recycling.

The Child is father of the Man

My Heart Leaps Up When I Behold

My heart leaps up when I behold

  A rainbow in the sky:

So was it when my life began;

So is it now I am a man;

So be it when I shall grow old,

  Or let me die!

The Child is father of the Man;

I could wish my days to be

Bound each to each by natural piety.

Monkeys of Jagrazed Pluionis 3

Bzelriad, you heard about the species we encountered on the third planet of Jagrazed Pluionis 3?

Yes, yes, the monkeys on the outer rim of the Saggitarius Arm.  What about them?

Well, we have been awaiting their entry into the Galactic Catalog of Civilizations for 500 zortys, but I just recently came from there, when they went silent.  And I saw what happened.

Who cares?  They’re MONKEYS.  We encounter four legged beasties with manipulative appendages all the time.  And in all cases, they operate the same.  And, when they reach the point of something other than bashing each others’ heads in with a rock, invariably a few hundred, thousand, or million zortys later, they use a bigger rock that explodes in their faces.  Monkeys are surly and unpredictable and ultimately blow themselves up, while laughing all the way.  You know this.  And you also know they’re very, very dangerous to be around, because the particular biomorph lends itself to sufaziality — at least, when carbon based.

Yes, yes, and these monkeys are no different.  But, what is interesting, in an exobiological sense, is these particular monkeys went so far, while fantasizing away their sufaziality.  You see, on this world, the monkeys evolved with similar, but less developed monkeys, who they decided to differentiate themselves as DIFFERENT, or more evolved, based on fantastical concepts which essentially denied their basic meatness.  You see, YOU say they are monkeys and that monkeys operate similarly, but they had the example of different, but slightly less developed monkeys.  But, though these similar monkeys had similar behavior patterns, THESE monkeys managed to rationalize away the similarities they had in their behavior, their basic sufaziality, with their less developed cousins.  Despite this, they managed to achieve an astonishing level of technological sophistication and they almost managed to become a threat.

Interesting.  How so?
